The Southeast Asia and Australia & New Zealand region (“SEAA”) includes Australia and New Zealand, Malaysia, Singapore and the affiliate markets of Indonesia and the Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam.

The Mission for Fragrance & Beauty Products (“FBP”) across SEAA is to “Reinforce CHANEL absolute leadership while sizing future growth opportunities”.  Deepen our knowledge, drive performance and foster transformation are the key success factors to bring to live our mission for FBP.

Australia & New Zealand is the No.1 FBP market across SEAA with our distribution channels spread across standalone boutiques, counters at departmental stores, Travel Retail counters and E-Business platform (i.e. over 100 point of sales), We are a diversified and complex market due to our geographical spread across multiple states and territory in Australia and New Zealand.

Reporting to the Managing Director for Australia and New Zealand and functionally to the Director, Fragrance & Beauty Products, Southeast Asia, Australia and New Zealand, the General Manager, Fragrance & Beauty Products for Australia and New Zealand will be playing the role of a transformative, innovative & futuristic leader to build the vision for Fragrance & Beauty Products across Australia & New Zealand,  maximize business potential, safeguard our profitability while strengthening Brand Equity and client experience.

The role will focus at ensuring that CHANEL remains uncontested in its market share and Brand Equity. To do so, the future General Manager for Fragrance & Beauty Products will define ambitions and implement the distribution channel strategy, the clients’ strategy, the categories strategy, and the communication strategy, while always being acutely aware of the competitive landscape and identifying future opportunities of growth.

The incumbent will lead the various functions in their team, building an agile organization and galvanizing talents, driving operational excellence to strengthen the Brand’s position on the market and to strive for forecast and demand planning accuracy.   Being data and digitally savvy and able to ride on technology as the enabler to the business are also the essential attributes for the role.  Given the Net Zero ambition of the House, the General Manager for Fragrance & Beauty Products will partner with the Sustainability function in driving the effort required for reaching our goal.

THE IMPACT YOU CAN CREATE AT CHANEL:

Strategic Leadership and Business Planning

· 
Define the strategic vision of the business and ambitions of the market.

· 
Develop the MTP (Mid Term Plan) aligned with global brand vision and region priorities.

· 
Execute the business plan to deliver sustainable growth and brand prestige in the everchanging business landscape.

· 
Define key success measures and milestones to evaluate progress and performance of business plan execution.

Distribution Strategy and Commercial Management

· 
Define the distribution channel strategy across department stores, beauty boutiques, e-business and travel retail. Define the role of each distribution channel from brand & image, financial performance and commercial potential.

· 
Accountable for the full P&L and drive profitable growth through optimizing channel mix.

· 
Drive qualitative growth by improving door productivity, optimizing doors portfolio and reach the desired profit margin for all our Point of Sale.

· 
Set ambitious yet realistic targets and monitor performance by channel.

· 
Cultivate long-term partnership with trade partners (both departmental store and travel retail) and landlords to ensure the Brand is well respected and achieves physical presence in line with luxury standards and exclusivity.

· 
Ensure store planning function strives for the most qualitative presence across all our Point of Sale and embeds sustainability in the “Build” while creating the conditions for the best clients’ experience.

E-Business

· 
Accelerate the development of CHANEL.COM and establish it as the CHANEL digital flagship.

· 
Maximize E-Retail potential, protect our revenue through strong partnership with our trade partners, maximize visibility and elevate client experience.

Marketing and Client

· 
Develop and drive innovative marketing and communications strategies across channels, aligned with global strategies and relevant for the market.

· 
Create a data driven mindset in the team to make data informed decisions and identify untapped opportunities in our client database.  Leverage data and digital tools for performance marketing, client acquisition and retention. ​

· 
Lead in clienteling and loyalty strategies to elevate client lifetime value by strengthening relationships with VIC, driving engagement with middle/lower tier clients and creating client centric journeys.

· 
Transform client experiences and champion luxury retail standards. Go beyond “Brick & mortar” and leverage E-Business and digital touchpoints to nurture client engagement and create seamless experiences.

· 
Build and maintain a solid CRM program to grow the Client base focusing on recruitment, retention and multi-axes purchases.

Brand Equity and Communications

· 
Optimize communication and media investment to amplify brand and customer engagement.

· 
Lead the 360 local marketing plan across media, events and promotions. Define the right level of promotional investments to achieve the ambitions and meet business performance.

· 
Partner with the General Manager Corporate Communications and Media Team to deliver innovative, impactful and state of the media orchestrations to elevate awareness and influence.

Forecast & Demand Planning

· 
Oversee demand planning and deliver forecast accuracy in line with global KPIs including sustainability.

· 
Strive for best-in-class practices in demand planning, supply planning and Standard Operating Procedures in strong collaboration with regional Forecast & Inventory team.

· 
Ensure healthy product and SPM inventory in Distribution Centre in accordance with agreed KPIs and a healthy inventory at POS.

Retail Excellence

· 
Create the conditions for excellence in terms of boutique hardware, operational efficiency, capabilities and expertise. Define what success looks like and be uncompromising in delivering it. Create a retail-centric mindset at all levels of the organization to enable the frontline teams to deliver the Brand’s promise.

· 
Master current and future luxury retail business operations and practices in Australia & New Zealand. Be anticipative of operational challenges.

· 
Strive for continuous opportunities to elevate client experience through uncompromised services.

People and Organization

· 
Develop a future fit organization in partnership with People & Organization and Regional team to ensure adaptability and agility to the ever-changing business environment.

· 
Lead and develop a collaborative cross functional team to bring to life a high-performing team.

Build and nurture talent, ensure the right capabilities are in place to deliver the ambitions.
