Maternity cover (10 months)

This is a fantastic opportunity for an employee who has a passion for Fondation CHANEL and an interest in philanthropy.  The Finance Assistant will be a key member of a lean finance team, temporarily reporting to the Group Director, Finance based in London.  This person will provide essential support to keep the Foundation’s financial management processes running smoothly and efficiently.  They will also occasionally partner with members of the Programs teams based in France, the UK, and the US to support the financial monitoring of the Foundation’s grants.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Support the Group Director, Finance with a wide range of financial management tasks including the following:

·  Serving as lead contact for the new vendor and payment process
·  Facilitating invoice approvals via Basware
·  Processing payments via treasury platforms
·  Supporting bookkeeping activities
·  Supporting preparation of quarterly financial reviews and governance meetings
·  Creating and running financial reports in the Foundation’s ERP system (NetSuite)
·  Completing monthly bank reconciliations and updating cash flow forecasts
·  Monitoring and updating grantee records in the Foundation’s grantee database
·  Supporting programmatic financial due diligence and risk assessment during the grant selection process
·  Reviewing periodic grantee financial reporting to evaluate project progress
·  Reviewing internal policies and procedures to optimise efficiencies and internal controls
·  Supporting ad hoc financial projects as they arise

BACKGROUND & SKILLS:

·  Minimum of three years of experience in an entry level finance role
·  Demonstratable knowledge and experience with basic accounting principles, financial statements, and budgets
·  Knowledge of Concur, Basware and NetSuite would be a significant advantage
·  Intermediate experience of Excel
·  Prior experience working in the non-profit sector is desirable
·  Interest in and enthusiasm for gender equality and development issues
·  English is essential. French would be an advantage
·  Currently studying (or looking to start) preferably AAT/CIMA/ACCA
