As a Technical Architect you will also act as a Technical Design Authority. The primary objective of the Technical Design Authority (TDA) is to provide technical assurance and control for all projects on the client engagement such that the integrity, availability, and performance of the services provided by CGI to the Customer are not compromised. Your future duties and responsibilities
Your responsibilities can be broadly split between two distinct but related scenarios, Project and Baseline Release. When performing the role as TDA for a project the scope of responsibility is limited to ensuring the objectives are met for a single project, when performing the role of TDA for a Baseline (known as Baseline Technical Owner) the scope of responsibility is extended to ensure that all projects contained within the baseline release co-exist together allowing the objectives to be met.

Key Project responsibilities include, understanding and seeking clarification on project requirements as well as validating and verifying estimates to deliver the project requirements before quote is submitted to the customer. You will also be required to perform impact analysis on the solution design and identify mitigations to any technical risks identified.

Key Baseline responsibilities include collaborating with the Baseline Owner to ensure that the technical risks and issues of all projects contained within the baseline are tracked and mitigated as required. It is also important that you review individual project release instructions, and collate these to form a baseline Implementation plan, undertaking internal review and walkthrough prior to customer review and approval.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role
In order to be successful in this role you must have good working knowledge of various software development methodologies as well as experience gained working with complex large scale software solutions. It is also essential that you have an understanding and experience of modern solution architectures for distributed software systems. Good working knowledge of relational databases is important as is good organisational and effective communication skills.

Experience of working in the financial services is highly desirable, as would asset finance sector experience within the automotive sector.
Strong stakeholder management skills are key and a n ability to convince and influence others is important.

Although this role will predominantly be based in Milton Keynes either on client site or CGI offices, there may be times when you are required to travel to other CGI offices. Therefore, a flexible attitude towards travel is required as part of the role.
