Backup Policy Architecture: Design and deploy automated protection policies targeting virtualization pools (including agentless and streaming virtual machine backups), enterprise file systems, and relational databases (such as SQL and NoSQL environments).
Restore Management: Serve as the primary responder for file level, volume level, virtual machine instant access, and database level restores.
Disaster Recovery (DR) Execution: Design and routinely test DR blueprints, replication policies, and secure cloud storage tiering solutions.
2. Infrastructure & Systems Administration
Hybrid Server Administration: Install, configure, and troubleshoot enterprise Linux distributions and Windows Server operating systems hosting critical applications and backup agents.
Automation & Scripting: Leverage scripting languages (such as PowerShell and Bash) to automate system health checks, patch deployments, and agent upgrades across the fleet.
Identity & Access Control: Manage system roles, file permissions, and directory services integration, applying strict security controls and privilege management to the backup environment.
Performance Optimization: Monitor system logs, analyze storage/memory capacity, and tune system variables to prevent infrastructure bottlenecks.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
Years of Experience: 3+ years of dedicated experience in Systems Administration managing enterprise class servers.
Data Protection Expertise: Strong, direct administration experience with Dell PPDM and associated appliances (Data Domain/DD Boost) or similar backup solutions
OS Administration: Advanced, practical knowledge of command line administration for RHEL/Linux and Windows Server (2016 2022).
Scripting capabilities: Demonstrated ability to read and modify Bash and PowerShell scripts.
Cloud Infrastructure: Exposure to cloud backup patterns within Azure
