SRE Engineer

Position Description:

5 to 8 years – relevant only – Bangalore location – please upload profiles in any of My active Id.

• Design, build, and maintain highly available, scalable production systems (Kubernetes/OpenShift, container orchestration, streaming data pipelines).
• Define and track SLIs/SLOs/error budgets for critical services; drive engineering priorities based on reliability data.
• Lead and participate in incident response: triage, mitigate, and drive root cause analysis (RCA) and postmortems for production incidents.
• Build and maintain monitoring, alerting, logging, and tracing (e.g., ELK/Filebeat, Kafka, Grafana, Prometheus) to improve system observability.
• Automate operational tasks (deployment, scaling, failover, capacity management) via IaC and CI/CD pipelines.
• Perform capacity planning and performance tuning for distributed systems (Kafka clusters, databases, message queues).
• Conduct network- and protocol-level troubleshooting (TCP/TLS/mTLS handshakes, packet captures, DNS) to diagnose complex production issues.
• Partner with development teams to improve system design for reliability, including reviewing readiness/liveness probes, timeouts, retries, and failure modes.
• Maintain and improve runbooks, escalation procedures, and on-call practices.
• Participate in an on-call rotation, responding to and resolving production alerts within SLA.
