This role is hybrid and requires you to be at our downtown Toronto (250 Yonge Street) and/or Client office (2201 Eglinton Ave E) at a minimum 2 days per week - subject to change at any time.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
We are looking for a talented API Developer with hands-on experience in designing, developing, and deploying APIs on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills in API development, cloud computing, and microservices architecture to support scalable and secure application integration.
• Design, develop, test and maintain RESTful APIs for application integration.
• Ensure APIs are efficient, secure, and adhere to best practices and industry standards.
• Deploy and manage APIs on GCP using services such as Apigee, Cloud Endpoints, or API Gateway.
• Leverage GCP tools for monitoring, logging, and performance optimization of APIs.
• Design and implement scalable and modular microservices to support business applications.
• Collaborate with backend teams to integrate APIs into larger systems.
• Implement API authentication, authorization, and encryption mechanisms.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, DevOps, and QA teams, to deliver high-quality solutions.
• Provide troubleshooting and support for APIs in production environments.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
Mandatory Skills:
• Design, develop, test and maintain RESTful APIs for application integration.

Nice to have:
• Experience with other cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) is a plus.
• Familiarity with API security protocols like OAuth 2.0, JWT, or SAML.
• GCP certifications such as Google Cloud Professional API Developer or equivalent.
