Job description

Position Description:

We are looking for members to join the Wales Application Delivery Centre’s Second Line Services Team. This is an excellent opportunity for junior members to gain experience of working within an shared service Applications Management team, with exposure to a range of clients, activities and technologies. Necessary training and knowledge transfer will be provided along with an opportunity to work with our experienced AM consultants.

Requirements will be varied and may include:

• Functional user support across a range of clients and applications systems;

• Running agreed business processes/jobs on behalf of clients;

• Proactive system monitoring/checking with follow-through on remedial actions;

• Fast turnaround of simpler / repeat AM incidents with support from our third line teams;

Qualifications Mandatory:

*Either:

- A technical degree with relevant work experience,

- Technical, analytical or service desk work experience, or

- Experience as a business IT “super-user” with an aptitude and interest for moving into an AM support role;

Skills Required:

• Good customer facing skills - the ability to talk to business users and understand their issues will be key;

• Proven communication skills - will need to accurately record and communicate issues and resolution progress;

• A flexible, proactive, “can do” attitude - willing and able to own issues through to a timely conclusion or hand-over to another party;

• Interest in taking forward a career specialising in Applications Management.

• Some experience in SQL, Network Configuration

Advantageous:

• Experience of using Remedy or similar IT Service Management tools;

• Experience of common technologies and tools (e.g. Sharepoint, SQL, MS Access, SAP, Oracle ERP, Networking (security & configuration), XML etc.;

• Experience of working and delivering to agreed service levels.
