Position Description:

​CGI has an immediate need for a SDET to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced team environment supporting one of the largest customers. We take an innovative approach to supporting our client, working side-by-side in an agile environment using emerging technologies.• This role is located at a client site in Reston, VA. A hybrid working model is acceptable.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

The Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) plays a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of software products by designing, developing, and maintaining automated testing frameworks. This position blends software engineering with quality assurance, focusing on building scalable test solutions, integrating them into CI/CD pipelines, and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to uphold high standards of code quality and performance.​

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

• Strong experience in developing automated test suites for API-based applications.
• Solid understanding of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
• Proficiency in Python, Java, and JavaScript.
• Hands-on experience with test automation frameworks such as JUnit, TestNG, and PyTest.
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs and tools like Postman.
• Skilled in integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (preferably GitLab CI).
• Experience using SonarQube for static code analysis, including customizing quality gates and interpreting reports.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with developers, QA engineers, and product managers.
• Experience with coding assistants like GitHub Copilot (GHCP) for generating unit tests.
• Minimum of 4 years in software testing and test automation.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Finance, or a related field.

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $85,100.00 - $137,100.00.
