Our successful digital team in Milton Keynes is expanding. We've recently moved to a brand new office near the city centre, and we're looking for talented individuals like you to help us meet growing demand from our clients. Working in the Financial Services sector, and our work varies from rapid prototyping to multi-year digital transformation projects.

Your future duties and responsibilities
As a scrum master you will be working with our existing agile practitioners across the UK, you will be responsible for pioneering, defining and governing the Agile practice within the new engineering centre, working closely with the engineering teams and leads to provide the most effective delivery processes.

On a day to day basis you will be heavily involved in delivering projects – ensuring appropriate and efficient delivery of prioritised work.

You will facilitate all aspects of the Scrum framework including sprint planning sessions, backlog grooming sessions, daily scrums, sprint reviews and sprint retrospectives. Also you will be responsible for maintaining the Scrum team capacity plan, Scrum board (Kanban), sprint backlog, velocity charts and burn down charts. Identifying and removing impediments to the success of the Sprint and Project.

You will be managing project changes ensuring each proposed change goes through a systematic project impact analysis and is effectively communicated to stakeholders and ensure the team to be accountable for the commitments they make.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role
To be successful in this role you more than likely have come from a technical background and are able to understand the technical constraints and complexities of delivering modern software. You will be able to converse with and understand the engineering team, and potentially even be able to add to the technical solution of a particular project. You may be currently a lead developer or team lead who has a lot of experience in leading agile teams and is looking to move more into a more formal Scrum Master role.

You will have excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work with internal and external clients, as well as sales and business stakeholders within the business. As part of your role you will be also involved in Bid and Pre-Sales activities as part of CGI’s business generation initiatives.

In addition to core skills you will demonstrate an understanding of where agile delivery methods may not work, or need to be tailored to delivery demands that are not Agile in nature.

You will have worked with clients who may not have experienced or appreciate Agile delivery methods, and you will be able to evangelise and champion lean delivery and the benefits that it provides. In addition you will have worked with more classical delivery methods and have demonstrable ways of overcoming the conflicts with Agile delivery.

You will also have demonstrable experience of managing agile teams that are remote from the client base and will be able to bring best practice in that area. You will also have experience working with and across scrum teams of varying sizes, and holding ‘scrum of scrum’ meetings to co-ordinate work across working teams.
