New Grad 2020- Project Control Officer (PCO)
Position Description
The Project Control Officer supports the sector and project teams by tracking and producing reports on key project initiatives such as project plans, financials, change requests, deliverables, risk and issues.
Your future duties and responsibilities
• Support Sector and Project Teams with deliverables such as status reports, project plans, meeting notes, schedules, resource plans, risk and issue tracking documents
• Generate and Analyze invoices for accuracy and completeness and provide recommendations to the Project/Program Manager
• Attend project/program meetings and ensure meeting notes/action plans are clearly documented and communicated
• Responsible for data management and extraction from project management information systems and reconciliation between the systems
• Report on internal project resources (people, capital, expenses)
• Assist in design, development and implementation of new and ad hoc reports and templates as required
• Assist in preparation of presentation materials (reports, charts, graphs) for senior management
• Take initiative with on-going process improvements/enhancements to ensure data integrity and accuracy
• Assist with special projects as required
• Support with project financials, look at actuals vs. forecast metrics
Required qualifications to be successful in this role
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills
• Good knowledge of techniques for planning, monitoring and controlling programs/projects
Industry
• Project Management practice experience
• Program Management practice experience
• Relevant industry experience as required
Interpersonal
• Effective listening ability
• Ability to find ways of solving or pre-empting problems
• Be an effective communicator
Project Management
• Proficient in Project Management Tools such as Microsoft Project, familiar with PMBOK.
• Understanding of cost metric tools i.e. revenue cost margins
