Core Technical Skill Sets
1. Oracle Communications Suite
These are essential for managing telecom order orchestration and provisioning:
• Oracle OSM (Order and Service Management) – v7.3, including COM, SOM, TOM cartridges – Expert
• Oracle ASAP (Automated Service Activation Platform) – Expert
• Oracle UIM (Unified Inventory Management) – Intermediate
• Oracle WebLogic Server – Expert
2. Programming & Development
Hands-on coding and customization skills in:
• Java (10+ years) – Core Java, multithreading, collections
• Spring Boot – Microservices development
• XQuery & XSLT – For OSM/ASAP integrations
• SQL & PL/SQL – Oracle DB-centric development
• Python (basic to intermediate) – Scripting and automation support
3. Middleware & Integration Frameworks
Understanding of telecom middleware architecture and tooling:
• IBM BPM / IBM BAW (Business Automation Workflow) – For workflow modeling
• MuleSoft & Apache Camel – Basic understanding for API integrations
• Oracle AIA (Application Integration Architecture) – Preferred
Tools & Supporting Technologies
• Drools – Business rules engine (used for Product Mapping Engine)
• Hibernate – ORM for Java persistence
• JAX-WS – For web service development
• SOAP/XML Interfaces – For integrating with network elements
• UNIX Shell Scripting – For application support and automation
• Version Control & CI/CD – GIT, Jenkins (preferred)
• Build Automation – Maven/Ant, automated deployment scripts
Telecom-specific Knowledge
• Deep understanding of OSS/BSS architecture
• Telecom services: HSI, IPTV, GSM, Broadband, Voice, NPVR
• Order lifecycle management, fulfillment decomposition, and orchestration
• Experience in working with: Network elements (Cisco BACC, ACS, Ericsson EMA, ECI, MROTEK) Integration with systems like BRM, CRM, WFM, and legacy provisioning
