Position Description:

The Application Delivery Centre based in Hughes Park Bridgend requires additional staff to supplement its current service teams and also for new business coming into CGI.

As the Analyst Programmer you will provide 3rd line application support service including system enhancement and development to our current and new clients. All calls will be logged on OneITSM, given an initial priority and the Analyst Programmer will manage the call through to successful completion. Where necessary the you will liaise with clients to ascertain further details of a call to assist diagnosis of the problem. You will also be required to assist with system enhancements and developments on other services within the Application Delivery Centre.

Key Activities of the role will include:-

• Monitor and respond to Support Incidents as per the criteria specified in the relevant SLA.

• Manage and fulfil Service Requests.

• Provide analysis of system defects as and when required.

• Undertake root cause analysis and problem investigating.

• Liaise / promote and foster good working relationships with clients and other CGI teams.

• Understand / adhere to quality / security standards and processes applicable to role.

• Acquire and enhance technical knowledge of supported applications / systems.

• Complete complex impact assessments.

• Analyse, design, build, test and implement enhancements to existing systems and/or new applications.

• Prepare and release data, bug and code fixes, and system enhancements.

• Identify potential service improvements.

• Active participation in and leading of team meetings, scrums or equivalent.

• Provide guidance and mentoring to more junior members.

Essential Skills Required:-

Java with JSP and Servlet

JEE Architecture, including the following frameworks: Struts, Spring, Hibernate

Working knowledge of JUnit, Maven, Eclipse IDE

Multiple Operating Systems

Analytical / Problem solving

Managing detailed technical issues

Motivated / determined / pro-active

Team Working and good communication

Desirable Skills and Qualifications:-

Oracle Database

SQL, PL/SQL

Previous experience of carrying out technical responsibilities in a support or development environment.

Other Details:-

Security Clearance: SC Cleared required or the ability to be SC cleared

Candidates must be willing to join a 24x7 standby rota provide out of hours support when required.

Role is primarily based in Hughes Park, Bridgend office.
