IT Manager

Position Description
The IT Manager is responsible for all functions relating to the planning, designing, configuring, installing, operation and maintenance of our internal technology infrastructure. The Manager is responsible for supporting and coordinating all infrastructure-based activities. This includes planning, vendor management, monitoring server uptime and activity, monitoring backup and recovery, ensuring high network and server availability, and monitoring all IT related work orders.

The member in this position also assists in the creation, maintenance and versioning of documentation related to IT processes, procedures and associated guidelines. The position’s responsibilities require independent analysis, excellent oral and written communication skills, and problem-solving skills. Work is performed with little supervision and requires initiative and judgment. The IT Manager must be able to perform effectively in a fast paced, multi-tasking environment while maintaining a high level of service support. Your future duties and responsibilities
• Work directly with vendor support contacts to resolve any technical problems affecting the delivery of services and/or uptime related to software/application solutions, servers, storage, and peripheral equipment
• Responsible for all functions relating to the planning, designing, configuring, installing, operation, and the maintenance of internal network infrastructure
• Monitor services for performance within set thresholds
• Configure routers, switches, develop and test scripts to automate routine tasks
• prioritize and distribute tasks to team members. Oversee the execution and completion of assigned tasks
• Performs and monitors daily and weekly data backups for data storage; performs maintenance, recovery, audit and accountability of the network; implements corrective actions
• Development of service level metrics for delivery, problem escalation/resolution processes and performance monitoring
• Ability to develop and maintain IT policies and procedures; implements and trains team members on IT policy and procedures. Maintains IT documentation and improves existing processes
• Assist with creation/maintenance of customer service SLAs
• Administer and maintain end user accounts, permissions and domain access rights. Expected to perform effective and timely resolution of reported issues and services by evaluating, tracking, escalating, managing, and ensuring timely closure of all requests/problems reported to the Corporate IT Operations team Required qualifications to be successful in this role
• Ability to work in a team and individually
• Strong work ethic, ability to learn quickly and master new technology and software
• 3-6 years of IT managerial or supervisory experience and Bachelor's degree is preferred
• High level of knowledge of Windows 2010 Server, Microsoft Outlook and Exchange Server 2010
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory and McAfee security management software
• Strong knowledge of DHCP/DNS/WINS/FTP and VMware
• Strong knowledge of data backup tools, image builds and reimaging computers
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP, including; DNS and subnet
• Strong knowledge of scripting preferred
• Knowledge of website design preferred
• Ability to prioritize and distribute tasks
• Ability to perform effectively in a fast paced, multi-tasking environment while maintaining a high level of service
• Perform efficiently and effectively with all assigned Projects/Tasks
• Exceptionally self-motivated and directed with ability to set and manage priorities judiciously
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills including interpersonal/customer service skills
• Superior analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving abilities with keen attention to detail
• Excellent understanding of computer systems features, and integration capabilities
• Escalation and on-call responsibilities are required as part of this position
• Strong commitment to high-quality customer service
• The ability to lift and handle packages/hardware with the approximate weight of 50 pounds or more
• 5 - 10% travel may be required in order to support remote locations
• US Citizenship is required for this position.
