Position Description

This role is within the CGI Telecoms team, which is responsible for designing and implementing a number of the global IoT platforms available today and evolving OSS and BSS for converged services.

You will report into a lead developer, and will be based in various UK locations including London, Belfast, Glasgow and Ipswich, with some expensed travel required to other locations in the UK when required.

Responsibilities will include developing solution components, writing and executing the and unit test cases in line with the designs, working closely with the lead developer and testers of the solution, to ensure the solution components are developed as designed, and performing as expected. Our clients expect us to collaborate fully with them and see us as part of the extended team and to use Agile methodologies. Required qualifications to be successful in this role
Expertise in developing Angular and JavaScript based solutions is essential for this role, but a background in Telecoms is not required. The type of environment you will work in is one where microservices, noSQL databases, Docker and Elastic are commonly used. Experience in Oracle products and PL/SQL would also be highly relevant to these roles.

You will need to have already held roles where you developed user facing web-based systems and integration to back-end systems. You will be experienced with modern Angular and JavaScript frameworks and development tools, handling large amounts of data, along with experience of Agile development methodologies such as SAFE.

Ideally, you will be familiar with working with Java and Oracle tools, including PL/SQL and Oracle COTS products including Siebel.

Experience in using CD/CI/CT toolsets is required. Experience of transformation projects would be highly desirable. You will also need a flexible attitude towards travel as you may be required Build your career with us.
