The Global Technology Operations (GTO) business unit in Canada (over 2500 members) provides infrastructure services to our clients through client relationship owners in the Client Proximity business units.

Our Enterprise Technical Operation Center team is looking for a talented and detail-oriented systems administrator professional who can work quickly, efficiently and accurately in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will join a team of diverse and collaborative administrators to manage sophisticated, scalable and reliable environments.

Your future duties and responsibilities
• Responsible for monitoring and controlling the performance and status of security safeguards.

• Responsible for the routine testing and analysis of security safeguards.

• Utilizes software and hardware tools to diagnose and resolve security incidents following agreed upon procedures.

• Implements solutions and performs modifications, installation and maintenance.

• Conducts assessments and reports vulnerabilities/monitors ongoing management with the operations teams.

• Controls, monitors and verifies the compliance of the security controls put in place by the operations team and/or implements the operational components (e.g. software currency).

• Create, suspend and delete security accounts and endpoints on the servers as required.

• Knowledge of SAN,DNS,DHCP, Exchange, UNIX, VM/Disk space management, server hardware configuration/repair.

• Responsible for resolving problems in compliance with all established procedures.

• Use standard tools and procedures to carry out the established service deliveries and maintenance tasks.

• Implement planned changes (server configuration, upgrades, repairs etc.).

• Coordinate the delivery of services in cooperation with other level-two service groups (Security, Telecommunications, AS/400, Virtualization, DBA), level-three technical specialists and external suppliers.

• Respond to client requests based on contractual conditions.

• Follow established ITIL processes for managing incidents, tasks and requests for changes.

• Ensure the development and update of procedures and operational documentation.

• Implement solutions, modifications, installations and maintenance tasks when required.

• Perform any other tasks as requested by the management team.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role
Education and Experience:

• University or College degree in Computer and/or Network administration with directly related practical experience

• Minimum 2-3 years of experiences in a client supporting technical role (helpdesk, servicedesk, system administrator, etc.) with some basic knowledge of operational security products like antivirus, data encryption etc.

• ITIL certification an asset.

Skills and Requirements:

• Excellent organizational and communication skills.

• Good knowledge of Microsoft and/or UNIX best practices.

• Motivated and proactive self-starter.

• Excels working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.

• Excellent fluency in English (spoken and written).

Working Condition:

Department Operational support: 24/7/365- shift support

12hour shifts/28 days- every 28days- off for one week

shift hours could be:

6:45am to 7:15pm- days

6:45pm to 7:15am- nights

Security Clearance:

• Ability to obtain Government of Canada security clearance from Enhanced Reliability to Level II (Secret).
