Position Description
CGI Federal is seeking an experienced Data Architect Specialist to join the Team to define and execute the digital data strategy in today’s data-driven world. As a Data Architect SME, you will work closely with other team members to set the data strategy direction across the enterprise, and ensuring that project and program architecture aligns to this vision by working with stakeholders to build a holistic view of the organization's strategy, processes, information, and information technology assets. You will develop a detailed knowledge of the underlying data and data products and become the subject matter expert on content, current and potential future uses of data, and the quality and interrelationship between core elements of the data repository and data products. The ideal candidate should have solid understanding of the federal data market, customer adoption of digital data, digital data trends, deep expertise with data management technologies and a desire to drive change through data alignment across the enterprise and promote sharing, reuse, ROI to reduce overall cost and improve information flow. The role requires the candidate to be a hands on data architect with experience in all phases of the SDLC.

Your future duties and responsibilities
As a key member of CGI Federal’s, you shall be responsible for the following:
• Working with Senior Executives and Clients to convey digital strategy as it pertains to information and data architecture by conducting collaborative workshops, consulting, reporting, and creating pertinent deliverables.
• Performs a key management and thought leadership role in the areas of advanced data techniques, including data modeling, data access, data integration, data visualization, text mining, data discovery, statistical methods, database design and implementation.
• Develops and helps institute best practices, methodologies and standards with regards to Master Data Management (MDM), Data Dictionary, Data Quality, Data Governance, Data Structure, Data Architecture, and Data Security.
• Develops overall strategic data architecture direction and provides a comprehensive road map
• Works with Solution Architects, domain experts, and other project team members to develop consensual data architecture and data design to ensure the proposed solution meets both client and end user needs.
• Steward of Enterprise Data Lifecycle Management including data quality, data conversion, and data security technologies.
• Defines and achieves the strategy roadmap for the enterprise; including data modeling, implementation and data management for our enterprise data warehouse and advanced data analytics systems.
• Supporting business development activities to articulate CGI’s Digital Data Strategy capabilities and help shape and communicate proposed data solutions to senior executives, domain experts, and IT architects.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role
• Due to the nature of this government contract, US Citizenship and a DOD clearance is required.
• Strong experience with SQL 2005 and above
• Hands-on experience with NOSQL databases (MongoDB, DynamoDB, etc.)
• Excellent SQL skills and demonstrated ability to write complex queries
• Hands on experience with data profiling tools and processes
• Well versed in the following data domains: Master Data, Operational Data, Analytical Data, Unstructured Data, and Metadata.
• Expert knowledge of normalized and dimensional modeling techniques.
• Experience with data modeling (e.g. Erwin, Visio, Sybase Power Designer, EA, etc.), 3rd normal form and dimensional (Star schema, Snowflake).
• Experience with BI solutions: architecture, design and development of data marts, and reporting models. Hands on experience with BI tools, (e.g. Tableau, SAS BI, Cognos, Business Objects, Hyperion).
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work with Senior Executives (VP, Directors), Solution Architects, domain experts, and project team members to scope mobility solutions deliverables, tasks and levels of effort
• Solid experience with Data Warehouse and BI systems; extensive experience for collecting business requirements from customers, and transform the requirements into DB data processes and data schema.
• Proven ability to extract/source data from multiple data sources and integrate them into a single source view/report/dataset
• Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts and practices
• Working knowledge of all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Experience with analyzing complex data correlations with the ability to define and explore the ‘what if’ scenarios
• Excellent oral and written communication skills; must be proficient developing and delivering presentations on solution and business case/value to senior U.S. Federal Government managers
• 10+ years of hands-on experience with data modeling, architecture, and implementation
• Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree (preferably Master’s Degree) in Computer Science or comparable industry experience
Additional Requirements:
• Experienced in content strategy, mobile data delivery
• Experience with oData API and Data Services applying SOA design and principles
• Big Data Analytic skills (Hadoop, Horton, Cloudera, MapR, R Language, etc.)
Desired Knowledge and Skills:
• Experience with government digital data strategy roadmap on the Cloud, On-Prem, and Hybrid environments
• Familiarity with network infrastructure, cloud solutions, Internet technologies, wireless networks, and machine-to-machine communications (i.e., Internet of Things) is preferred
• Familiarity with Agile Development Methodology
• Sound understanding of Business Intelligence related Data Profiling, Reporting Tools, Visualization, Analytics, Dashboards, and Predictive Analysis through tools and technologies. Demonstrated business acumen and the ability to apply technology solutions to solve business problems
• Experience in delivering self-service BI solutions that promote data discovery
