Contract Specialist
Position Description
CGI Federal, a wholly owned subsidiary of CGI, has an opening for a Contract Specialist in its Albany, NY office. This role supports a multi-year business process services contract CGI Federal has with a local housing authority that is aligned with the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
Your future duties and responsibilities
- perform detailed reconciliation of payments to property owners
- assist in the submitting of budgets, requisitions and revisions, renew expired contracts
- maintain positive relations with owners, residents and their representatives, neighborhood
groups and local
governments
- perform rent adjustments including budget analysis
- monitor physical inspection results in collaboration with local contract specialists, maintain
customer files and maintain records in accordance with policy
- work requires the ability to meet deadlines consistently and accurately.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role
- 1 year minimum of professional office experience
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to learn knowledge of HUD rules and regulations governing the HUD Section 8 project-based housing program information through the training program provided
- proficient in the use of MS Office, particularly Excel
- possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as a solid understanding of general accounting principles
- Due to the nature of the government contract requirements and/or clearance requirements US citizenship is required.
Desired qualifications:
- undergraduate degree in business administration or related field, or relevant experience in lieu of education
- existing knowledge of HUD rules and regulations governing the HUD Section 8 project-based housing
program
