Back Office Payroll Agent
Position Description
The Back Office Payroll Agent is ultimately responsible for the processing of tax forms, garnishments, direct deposit requests and/or paid sick leave claim requests. It is the responsibility of the Payroll Agent to process the form type within the contractual service level agreement (SLA) time frame and with high quality. The Payroll Agent needs to be able to work independently, yet work well in the team setting as needed.
Your future duties and responsibilities
• Enters and maintains IHSS Provider tax information (W-4 and DE-4 data)
• Enters and maintains IHSS Provider and Recipient Direct Deposit data
• Enters and maintains IHSS Provider deductions such as garnishments and other withholding orders
• Processes requests for IHSS Provider W-2 reprints
• Enters IHSS Provider and Recipient data as needed as part of service desk ticket resolution
• Acts as a liaison between the CMIPS Account and State agencies in all aspects of payment and tax processing
• Functions positively in a technological and team-based environment
• Makes suggestions for improvements for current business processes as identified
• Follows all pertinent policies and procedures
• Maintains production standards
• Follows all guidelines in compliance with security and privacy standards, inclusive of but not limited to HIPAA standards
Required qualifications to be successful in this role
Clearly identify the essential qualification vs the desired qualifications. What skills/experience must this person have to be considered?
• Minimum of one (1) year experience in payroll or related operations
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, Outlook)
• Must be able to type a minimum of 35 wpm
• Ability to multi-task navigating multiple systems using dual monitors.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills with both internal and external customers
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Must be able to work overtime as needed
• Ability to pass background check
