Agile Business Analyst

Position Description
Be part of something exciting. Do you want to take control of your future? Are you ready for the responsibility of working with high profile clients in the world’s most exciting sectors? Do you want to take your career to the next level as part of one of the big five IT and business process firms in the world who will give you a direct stake in its success? CGI are looking for experiences Agile Business Analysts based in our Leatherhead office.

CGI offers a competitive compensation package with opportunities for growth and professional development Flexible hours and remote working possibilities are offered as part of this role as well as other excellent benefits including pension and share purchase matching schemes. Your future duties and responsibilities
The role will involve gathering requirements for changes to CMS, the CPS case management system built and supported by CGI. CMS is a large and complex legacy system requiring changes due to evolving work processes and legislative change. CMS interfaces with Police, other court applications and also with the Prosecutor app, a CGI supported application for use by prosecutors in court.

CPS business analysts will produce high level requirements and the role will involve taking ownership of a subset of those requirements and liaising with the customer to produce a detailed user requirements document. This will involve face to face meetings with CPS analysts and attending workshops with practitioners and administrative staff. The analyst will liaise with technical teams on the project, and be responsible for checking the existing functional specification, in order to identify any potential problems and issues while developing the detailed requirements. Following agreement to implement the requirements, the role will involve updating the functional specification (which is written in a logical pseudo language) to include the changes and identify any logical data changes required to support them. The analyst will also review documents (such as test specifications) produced by other teams, and to liaise with those teams.

CMS is in the process of transitioning from a waterfall to an agile project, and so flexibility with regards to processes is required. Required qualifications to be successful in this role
In order to be successful in the role of Business Analyst, you will need to have demonstrable experience of providing business analysis capability within a multi-functional agile team, working in a structured agile approach to product development. You’ll also have experience of producing and managing a backlog of clearly defined user stories, NFRs and acceptance criteria using BDD in an agile tool (such as Jira) through all stages of agile development.

You should have a track record of playing a leading role in discovery/inception and ensuring effective collaboration between business experts, user researchers, user experience designers and technical team members. You will have good experience of using a range of analysis and modelling techniques, for example: modelling current and desired future scenarios, business functions and processes, logic and rules, information flows and data structures.

We need our Business Analysts to be curious and creative, and have excellent communication and strong analytical, problem-solving, and conceptual skills, with excellent attention to detail. Build your career with us.
