Job Expectations:

In this role you will work closely with a team of project managers, engineers , geologists, and Instrumentation technicians reporting directly to the Southeast Regional Manager in our Monitoring division. You will manage and support local and national geotechnical and structural health monitoring projects, and will support our efforts identifying opportunities and growing our Monitoring business. For the right candidate, this position offers the opportunity for significant professional growth, the potential to collaborate with local and national Monitoring and Geotechnical Consulting teams and the opportunity to chart your own career path in support of growing our monitoring practice. You will routinely interact or manage relationships with clients, customers, officials, contractors, and other stakeholders and will help to ensure that deliverables are on time and within scope and budget. Additional responsibilities may include:

  • Ability to successfully manage and deliver on multiple tasks with competing priorities
  • Manage Geotechnical and Structural Instrumentation and Monitoring projects involving piezometers, inclinometers, vibration monitors, automated motorized total stations, tilt sensors, crack gauges and other instruments.
  • Prepare baseline reading reports, site visit reports, monthly instrumentation data reports, and project submittals.
  • Support business development efforts of the team. Assist preparing proposals by reading and interpreting project plans and specifications, creating monitoring plans, soliciting proposals from subcontractors and materials suppliers, and preparing budgets and proposals.
  • Periodically attend industry trade-shows and conferences and make presentations.
  • Assembly, programming, and testing, of vibration monitors, piezometers, Inclinometers, automated motorized total stations, and data logging systems from varying suppliers.
  • Conducting site visits as necessary to install, maintain, and troubleshoot monitoring instruments and data logging systems.
  • Conduct pre-construction and post-construction surveys
  • Create baseline reading reports, site visit reports, monthly instrumentation reports, and pre-construction and post-construction reports.
  • Up to 25% average travel (domestic) may be required over the course of a year
  • Active participation in local and national industry associations

Minimum Required Experience

  • BS Degree in Civil Engineering, Geology, or related discipline
  • Relevant course work and experience must include utilizing remote sensing, data management, and geotechnical GIS software.
  • Relevant Project Management experience
  • Relevant Business Development experience for I&M projects in the Southeastern U.S.
  • Familiarity with the I&M market within the Southeastern U.S. Specific experience with I&M programs for dams and CCR closure projects is a plus
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Suite including Word, Outlook, Project, Excel and PowerPoint is required.
  • Up to 25% average travel (domestic) may be required over the course of a year.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record is required.
