Job description

To accelerate our growth in the rail sector, we are looking for a Business Development Manager - Rail, reporting to the Infrastructure and New Energies Director, to strengthen our global presence and bring our solutions to market.

Your Role

As Business Development Manager, you will be at the forefront of expanding Sercel's footprint in the rail industry. You will identify opportunities, build strong relationships with key players, and shape business strategies that position Sercel as a trusted partner for railway infrastructure solutions.

You will work closely with our regional Sales Managers and global offices (North America, Latin America, Middle East, Australia, Europe, and Africa) to create value for our clients and deliver tangible business results.

Your missions

  • Propose and execute strategy: Develop and implement a consistent business plan in alignment with company goals and submit strategy action plan and a commercial roadmap to management.

  • Drive growth: Achieve sales and business development targets by identifying new opportunities and securing deals.

  • Build relationships: Establish and nurture long-term partnerships with customers, stakeholders, and industry players.

  • Collaborate globally: Work with the experts on solution & product segments and interact with the company's different departments (Sales, Innovation, R&D, Legal, Finance) to build a relevant offer in line with the market requirement.

  • Promote innovation: Position Sercel's solutions, services, and software as must-have offerings in the rail infrastructure sector.

  • Stay ahead: Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer requirements, and share insights internally.

  • Represent Sercel: Take part in industry events, conferences, and client meetings, showcasing our solutions and building our reputation.

  • Ensure compliance: Uphold company standards in finance, legal, ethics, and HSE policies.

Desired profile

Qualifications

  • Education: Master's degree in Engineering or related field.

  • Experience: At least 7 years in business development, sales, or technical marketing within the rail industry (ideally track and infrastructure).

  • Industry knowledge: Strong expertise and an established network in the rail infrastructure ecosystem.

  • Skills: Excellent communicator, strategic thinker, resilient, and commercially driven.

  • Languages: Fluent in English and French (additional languages a plus).

  • Flexibility: Willingness and availability to travel internationally on a regular basis.

Location: France (Nantes or Massy), with regular international travel
