Implementation / Technical Consultant – Asset MGMT Software

Our client is a leading provider of Asset, Infrastructure and SAM Management solutions. Due to growth they now have an immediate opening for an Implementation / Technical Consultant to be based at their Central Reading office.

Working under the title of IT Professional Services Consultant, you will work onsite or remotely with customers to gather requirements, configure, customize, and implement Service Management solutions. More specifically, you will:

• Work with customers to help them develop and implement business processes and/or technical outcomes within the framework of an application
• Leads customer-oriented design discussions and workshops to determine and document customer needs and designs solutions using appropriate products
• Understand, analyse and communicate Service Management requirements.
• Translate advanced jargon or technical issues and concepts into understandable terms for business users
• Understand and anticipate customer needs
• Implement software solutions at customer sites or remotely
• Deliver work packages on-time, and to agreed scope and budget.
• Assess customer training needs and makes recommendations.

The ideal candidate for this role will have:

• 3+ years of consulting experience gained in an Implementation Consultant or Technical Consultant role
• Project/engagement management experience
• Experience with similar IT Service Management tools that allow for advanced configuration
• Troubleshooting IT related solutions/tools
• Experience with design and configuration of business process software
• Previous experience with designing and documenting business processes and enterprise-level systems integration.

Technical experience required includes:

• Broad experience and knowledge of Microsoft client and server technologies
• Microsoft Operating Systems, SQL Server, Web Server technologies
• Knowledge and experience of VMWare for creation of system demonstration and test builds
• General networking and technical architecture/security knowledge
• Experience of integration with email, Active Directory (or similar) and other data sources
• Experience with network/asset discovery tools (e.g., HEAT/Centennial Discovery, SCCM, Altiris, and SolarWinds)
• ITIL knowledge (certification preferred)
• Report writing skills (e.g., Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), Crystal).
• Development/programming experience (Web Services, API, XML,HTML)
• PowerShell scripting experience.
