The Overview

Centrica Storage Limited (CSL) is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Centrica plc and is legally, financially and physically separate from the rest of Centrica. CSL operates the Rough gas storage facility in the southern North Sea and the Easington onshore gas processing terminal in East Yorkshire. It is the largest gas storage facility in the UK, providing approximately 70% of space and able to meet approximately 10% of the UK’s current peak gas demand.

We now have an exciting opportunity for an Offshore Instrument Technician to join our team.

The Role

What will you be doing?

You will be responsible for instrument maintenance on the Rough Offshore assets, maintaining all instrumentation and control systems for the process and utility systems to optimize availability. Your day to day duties will include:

·  Complete routine maintenance, fault diagnosis, corrective maintenance and installation of equipment
·  Support the Operations Team during platform start-up and shutdown with purging and isolation activities
·  Safeguard the availability and operating condition of instrumentation and control systems so that production targets are achieved
·  Ensure fire & gas detection/ESD are maintained for maximum reliability and availability
·  Operate as part of a multi-disciplined integrated team and undertake maintenance in order to minimise production disruptions
·  Ensuring work carried out by 3rd party personnel conforms to statutory regulations
·  Installing and commissioning new equipment

The Person

To be great in this role you will have...

·  A recognised Instrument apprenticeship or training scheme
·  A minimum City & Guilds or equivalent, with an HNC/ ONC or equivalent preferred
·  Extensive experience in maintenance support activities, preferably with experience of multi-skilling
·  Experience in upstream oil and gas or petrochemicals essential

With our head office in Staines and main engineering office in Hedon, we operate the Rough gas storage facility in the southern North Sea, the York off and onshore gas processing facility and the Easington onshore gas processing terminal in East Yorkshire. Our Rough gas storage facility, the largest in the UK represents around 75% of UK’s current storage capacity. Gas is stored in the Rough field on behalf of a large number of customers, including utilities, gas traders and gas producers. Centrica Storage's commercial team is separated from those parts of Centrica that deal in gas supply, gas shipping, trading and storage procurement
