The Overview

We are looking for an experienced Information Security Analyst / consultant to join our highly experienced internal security team at our HQ in Staines (TW18). We offer a unique role engaging on an exciting and varied programme portfolios ranging from technology projects to core British Gas energy services where you will make a difference to our customers by ensuring their information is always protected

· Location: Staines (TW18), London
· Package Circa: £55,000 (Depending on experience)

The Role

You will have the opportunity to exploit every tool in your toolkit to drive the importance of Information Security in order to enable the business to operate securely, by using a blend of industry knowledge, best practice, stakeholder relationship, great communication, passion and enthusiasm.

We are at a very exciting time of change within Information Security and British Gas where we are driving towards making the protection of ours and our customers’ information a priority for the organisation.

This role will require you to

· Apply knowledge of Information Security best practice but be innovative in order to match the business requirements
· Understand legal/regulatory controls as required, interpret what they mean for the business and develop pragmatic solutions
· Build lasting relationships with the wider internal business community
· Maintain knowledge of latest technologies; not only for Information Security but also in terms of British Gas; the leading energy company in the UK, with a vast customer base and varied workforce
· Review and amend project document sets such as Solution Designs
· Follow and enhance our internal Information Security Consultancy processes and develop world class artefacts, such as risk assessments and project reports.
· Lead where necessary and act as a role model for others
· Perform weekly reporting and documentation on projects that will allow BG and its associated organisations to understand the current status and future challenges and activities.

The Person

Experience we need

· Display a thirst for ongoing learning, improvement and personal development.
· Experience of working simultaneously across multiple and diverse projects of varying size and complexity
· Have extensive knowledge of industry best practice and relevant legislation/regulation
· Qualified in CISSP
· Experienced in working within ISO27001
· Knowledge or hands on experience of security within Cloud and Big Data
