The Overview

We currently have an exciting opportunity within our Finance Systems team for a dynamic Finance Systems Manager. As part of the wider Finance Control team you will provide support and direction of financial systems (SAP) across British Gas Finance. In this role you will oversee finance disciplines, governance & control and provide input into financial systems strategy, systems integrity and project based initiatives.

The Role

· Provide finance key user support for SAP ERP, BW, BPC, ISU/FICA systems, including ensuring sufficient documentation of system processes and advising on best practice methods across multiple system and applications
· Provide central governance over financial systems to ensure that systems meet the internal and external financial requirements
· Provide administrative support across systems, including working closely with Service Delivery Managers to support service requests and incidents
· Advise on and support system development initiatives including support for change requests & projects
· Have inputs into the strategic direction of the financial systems across British Gas and Group
· Identify process improvements and different ways of working to constantly improve the quality and automation of financial outcomes
· Contribute to risk and controls, additional support on master data creation and controls, financial reporting and Big Data analysis
· Preparation and delivery of training material to the finance community

The Person

· Qualified finance professional with relevant experience
· Experience of successfully managing system changes on behalf of Finance
· Project management (Prince 2)
· Systems skills in SAP, SAP BW, SAP BPC, Business Objects and SAS highly desirable
· Worked with Big Data technologies would be advantageous, along with knowledge of SAP HANA
· SAP FICO experience necessary and knowledge of integration points with other modules/systems preferably gained on full life cycle implementation projects
· Eye for the detail and able to communicate succinctly
· Previous experience of working on complex billing processes and translating them into solutions for finance
· Proven track record of improving systems
· Strong stakeholder management skills, strong communication skills and ability to maintain good working relationships with business units and other British Gas and Corporate departments
· Independent thinker with good problem solving skills
· Performance orientated, committed and capable of working under pressure to meet tight deadlines
