Overview

Centrica Storage Limited (CSL) is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Centrica plc and is legally, financially and physically separate from the rest of Centrica. CSL operates the Rough gas storage facility in the southern North Sea and the Easington onshore gas processing terminal in East Yorkshire. It is the largest gas storage facility in the UK, providing approximately 70% of space and able to meet approximately 10% of the UK’s current peak gas demand.

We now have an exciting opportunity for an Environmental Advisor to join our team.

What will you be doing?

You will provide advice and guidance to the onshore and offshore sites in Environmental best practice and monitoring of performance across Centrica Storage Limited (CSL). Your day to day duties will include:

·  Assists in the preparation of the Environment Management System and Business environmental procedures according to best industry practice and provides guidance on these to Management and others
·  Provides support to operational assets by way of provision of environment training; assistance in incident investigation; system audits and advice directly Management and others
·  Assists in the preparation of registers of new and impending applicable environmental legislation along with advice and guidance to management and others of how this legislation will affect operations
·  Assists in the monitoring, reporting, recording and improvement of environmental performance across the business
·  Advises on and assists in the maintenance of emergency response plans for the operational assets
·  Ensures that requirements of the ISOL4001 registration are maintained within operations and any proposed modifications or changes to operational practices are compared to the Environmental Management System before implementation
·  Assists in providing environmental advice to work projects and provide advice on location or company specific requirements for such work prior to being undertaken

To be great in this role you will have......

·  Degree in an environmental protection related discipline or equivalent Chartered status desirable
·  Experience in environmental management within a complex process or chemical plant
·  Possess detailed knowledge of ISO14001 and Environmental legislation pertaining to CSL Operations
·  Great communication skills, both written and oral
·  Well-developed planning and organisational skills
·  Ability to keep yourself highly motivated

With our head office in Staines and main engineering office in Hedon, we operate the Rough gas storage facility in the southern North Sea, the York off and onshore gas processing facility and the Easington onshore gas processing terminal in East Yorkshire. Our Rough gas storage facility, the largest in the UK represents around 75% of UK’s current storage capacity. Gas is stored in the Rough field on behalf of a large number of customers, including utilities, gas traders and gas producers. Centrica Storage's commercial team is separated from those parts of Centrica that deal in gas supply, gas shipping, trading and storage procurement
