The Overview

The role responsibility is to provide cost effective and timely engineering solutions in line with the client’s requirement, EaWR 1989. BS.7671 and the Water Industry Mechanical and Electrical Specification (WIMES), interpret site documentation and drawings.

The ability to evaluate and resolve all site driven and Amtech defects is essential to allow for the timely delivery of all documentation to meet with the clients requirements and standards. The role will also include communication with site Inspectors and Remedial Electricians in order to ensure safe and compliant activities in the field.

The primary drivers of the role are to deliver a quality, cost effective inspection, testing, and electrical remedial work regime, delivering a service to suite the client and our own business needs. Additionally to ensure and monitor people development, performance management and customer service, of the business.

This role is a key position for driving operational performance, quality, growth, customer focus and communicating essential business information through effective leadership.

To provide direct man management and supervision to other L7 & L8 staff.

The Role

To provide cost effective and timely engineering solutions in line with the client’s requirement, BS.7671 and the Water Industry Mechanical and Electrical Specification (WIMES). Work with the management team to deliver business objectives in line with operational plan

Deal with technical queries via telephone from site engineers, and wherever necessary to visit site in order to clarify.

Communicate with site supervisors and site engineers to clarify information both coming from, and going to site.

To prioritise workloads to deliver in line with strict sectional completions. Assist in the procurement of materials, plant and specialist sub-contractors to facilitate the ongoing delivery of the project.

Provide training, supervision and mentoring where applicable in order to deliver to the standards expected of the department and by the client. In liaison with British Gas Services Quality & Standards, ensure compliance with the HSAWA and other business and client related legislation & best practice guidance.

Continually review resource requirements to ensure that works can be delivered within agreed time scales. Actively take on specific responsibilities & projects from the Management team and follow them through to completion.

Manage, coach and conduct performance and objective appraisals (IDP) for direct reports to facilitate their development ensuring that systems are in place to measure progress and verify that the companies and individuals aspirations are being achieved.

Represent the company in customer meetings. Manage and maintain the communication channels to team members and customers.

The Person

Needs a clear understanding of all types of Electrical installations and a level understanding of the client’s requirement, EaWR 1989, BS.7671 and the Water Industry Mechanical and Electrical Specification (WIMES).
