The Overview

PH Jones, part of British Gas, is a provider of Gas Central Heating Service, Repair and Installations to the Social Housing market. We now have an exciting opportunity for an Apprentice Gas Engineer to join our team in the East Lothian area.

The Job

As an Apprentice Gas Engineer you will become a member of a small team of Installation Engineers and will accompany Engineers around the East Lothian area. This is an Apprentice position and will be fully supervised.

·  Provide an honest and loyal service, showing due regard for the property of PH Jones and our Customers
·  Promote and demonstrate good customer care
·  Undertake work in a safe manner in accordance with company policies and procedures
·  Have awareness of health and safety issues associated with the gas industry
·  Commit to and understand the need for flexible work patterns (does not apply within the first 12 months)
·  Develop and maintain good relationships with colleagues, Trade Unions, staff and other organisations

The Person

As the public face of PH Jones, you will need to present the company's image at all times, through the quality of your work and the way you deal with customers and the public at large. You should be able to demonstrate an aptitude for learning all aspects of a domestic Gas Engineers duties, whilst working to strict health and safety guidelines and company policies.

·  Preferred GCSE grade A-C in Maths, English, ICT and Science
·  Full manual driving licence required before the completion of the apprenticeship
·  Self-reliant and responsible, and able to demonstrate pride and effort in anything you undertake
·  You will operate at the sharp end of the Social Housing Sector and will need to demonstrate the ability to meet our customers needs
·  Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills
