Cartier Philanthropy is a grant-making foundation based in Geneva, Switzerland. It was created in 2012 to catalyse the Maison Cartier's commitment to improving the livelihoods of the most vulnerable. · access to basic services (water & sanitation, education, nutrition, primary healthcare);
· women's social and economic development;
· the responsible management of natural resources;
· emergency response and preparedness.
Cartier Philanthropy is primarily committed to the world's least developed regions where the needs are greatest and people are most exposed and vulnerable to risks. Cartier Philanthropy's funding strategy has evolved over the past two years to focus on organisations that are evidence-based and impact-driven in order to optimize every dollar spent for the benefit of the poorest populations we serve.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
In order to strengthen and systematize our due diligence and monitoring of current and potential partner organisations, the trainee, under the leadership of the Programme Manager, will be assisting with:
· The consolidation of our rigorous due diligence process, on existing and potential grantees (+/-30), including their operational expertise, governance, financial records, reputation and risk management (70% );
· The update of the current project forms (+/-40) based on a thorough analysis of our partners mid-term and final reports analysis (15%);
· The update of the country socio-economic data (+/-20) published on our website (10%);
· Any other matter that may arise in relation to Cartier Philanthropy programmatic priorities (5%).
EDUCATION
· Master's degree in development economics, sociology and politics of development, social development, or equivalent
SKILLS REQUIRED
· Excellent analytical skills and a strong sense of synthesis.
· Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and French.
· Team player who can also work with autonomy.
· Dynamic, flexible and open-minded.
