Laboratory Technician
Do you want to be responsible for helping to create probably the best beer in the world?
A rare opportunity has arisen for a QA Laboratory Technician in Carlsberg's Northampton Brewery. Reporting to the QA Manager, you will be responsible for quality analysis for some of our key brands, ensuring that our products live up to our high standards and continue to delight our customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Chemical analysis on finished products
- Collection of analytical samples from across production areas
- Maintenance & calibrations on laboratory & process equipment
- Provide analytical support to the brewery production teams
- Input, monitor and evaluate the analytical results to ensure continuous improvement and production of a consistently high quality product
- Responsible for ordering & managing laboratory consumables
- Responsible for maintaining & improving standards of hygiene & organisation within the brewery laboratories
- Active participation & support in site improvement activities
Knowledge/Skills:
- Knowledge of gas chromatography, high performance liquid chromatography & spectroscopy
- Ability to maintain & repair laboratory equipment
- Knowledge of good laboratory practices & 5S
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Flexibility, motivation and self-management
- Able to work independently & as part of a team
- Knowledge & use of Microsoft Office packages such as Word & Excel
Previous experience needed for the job:
- Minimum 3 years laboratory experience
- Ideally have laboratory experience in a food / beverage manufacturing environment
Formal qualifications required for the job:
- A Level Science qualification or equivalent, however a candidate with relevant experience would be considered
