Cargill Cotton is very proud to be one of the world’s largest and oldest cotton businesses. We originate raw cotton lint and sell predominantly to spinning mills that, in turn, produce yard for the manufacturing of textile products.
This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of a challenging and ever-changing global trading and supply chain environment as a key member of our trade execution team. The team ensure our customers receive the product when the trade has been completed to maximise customer satisfaction by meeting customer needs and expectations with regards to contracts and deliveries. This is a fast-paced and varied position which will require the successful candidate to simultaneously manage a number of projects at any one time and respond positively to changes that occur within a global trading and shipping environment.
This role requires first class execution and delivery of both purchase and sales contracts including (but not limited to); logistics, banking and documentation, resulting in the secure payment of the completed trade.
Major Tasks
• Be a main point of contact for agents once the contract is concluded– receiving and processing orders, arranging transportation, dealing with queries
• Compile the relevant sales documentation to complete the trade and secure payment (e.g. letters of credit, invoices, certificates of origin, shipment details etc.)
• Develop and maintain relationships with internal departments and external agents in the UK and globally through calls and emails, as well as local meetings
• Shipment management including decision making around the release and delivery of goods in line with payment terms, and risk mitigation
• Check and approve invoices for suppliers e.g. freight, storage and banking services
• Deal promptly with queries by phone and emails and resolve problems around documentation issues, logistical questions and challenges
• Ensure contractual obligations are met in relation to shipment and / or delivery, whilst considering logistical constraints
• Collaborate both internally and externally, to ensure customer requirements can be met on a daily and weekly basis within a fast paced, constantly changing environment and ability to react quickly to resolve any scheduling challenges
• Proven experience in a relevant environment e.g. sales administration, international banking, trading or supply chain environment with a good understanding of supply chain processes
• We would also consider a recent graduate with a relevant degree (i.e. Supply chain, Shipping, Business Studies) looking to forge a career in a global trade and supply chain environment
• Well-developed analytical skills

• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
• Good IT skills in MS Word and Excel. Knowledge of using an ERP system preferred but not essential
