Job description

Job location(s): Allensmore, Herefordshire

You will be responsible for managing all aspects of Engineering to support key Mill objectives ensuring legal compliances, effective operations and satisfactory support for the Mill processes.

Major Tasks

• Coordinate, via shift leads, all operational shift personnel whilst maintaining a safe, efficient and cost effective operation with maximum utilization of resources.
• Liaise with HR department to select and develop engineering personnel and ensure a development programme is in place to train and motivate individuals to achieve performance and quality targets.
• Ensure employee and product safety at all times by ensuring; training is given, adherence to Cargill and Cargill Meats Europe safety and hygiene standards, adhering to the correct number of BBB contacts per shift and completing Health and Safety documentation.
• Analysis and development of maintenance plans ensuring process efficiencies.
• Manage third party contractors on site, including induction and managing risk assessments and method statements.
• Manage supplier interface.
• Target setting; ensure measurement, monitoring and management of engineering performance using Key Performance Indicators.
• Review the results from the shift and report back to the management team.
• Control costs by managing and minimising spend and waste and to drive cost saving ideas.
• Ensure all company policies, standards, processes are met and adhered to by all personnel and administration of relevant maintenance management systems.

Qualifications

• Secondary Level education – essential.
• NVQ Level 4 in Management or equivalent – essential.
• Full apprenticeship training – essential.
• Proven experience at management level – essential.
• Effective and proven leadership skills – essential.
• Proven ability to analyse data to give meaningful reports and actions – essential.
• Experience of using a Computer Maintenance Management System- essential.
• HNC/ Degree in Engineering or relevant subject – desirable.
• Proven manufacturing experience within a FMCG industry (preferably food processing) – desirable.
