Job location: Dalton, Yorkshire

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the company’s quality systems are compliant with relevant legislation and regulatory requirements and that they incorporate Cargill policies and procedures at a local level. In addition the FSQR Manager will manage the site’s Quality Assurance function ensuring all agreed internal and external (customer) specification requirements are met.

Major Tasks

  • Responsible for the continued approval and compliance of the company’s quality systems to the relevant standards (e.g. ISO9001, UFAS, HACCP) – including all relevant auditing, checks, testing & record keeping
  • To monitor, report and investigate quality levels of all manufactured goods including adherence to specifications and standards. 
  • Manage internal product integrity procedures, associated microbe testing and customer requirements.
  • To act as site quality representative both internally within the group of CAN and externally with customers and regulatory authorities
  • To ensure all internal and customer complaints are logged, investigated, reported and corrective actions put in place
  • To understand, interpret and advise on regulatory interpretation relating to plant activities and manufacture of products

  • University degree or HNC in science / feed / food / chemical area
  • Proven experience in Quality Assurance preferably gained in a food or feed environment with a good level of microbiology understanding relating to food / feed stuffs
  • Good knowledge of formal quality standards e.g. ISO 9000, UFAS, GMP
  • Experience with third party auditing processes e.g. EFSIS, BRC
  • Working knowledge of laboratory testing equipment, e.g. NIR, HPLC, Mass spec
  • Proven change management experience 
  • Analytical capabilities
