Job Summary

We have a new opening for a Theatre Practitioner to join our multidisciplinary team at Emersons Green NHS Treatment Centre on a fixed term basis.

We offer day case and in-patient surgery across the following areas: dental surgery, ear, nose and throat procedures, endoscopy, general surgery, gynaecology, minor orthopaedic surgery, diagnostic imaging, pain management, ophthalmology, and urology.

In addition, we also provide diagnostic services, using the latest X-ray and ultrasound technology.

Key Responsibilities

As a Theatre Practitioner you will work as a member of the multi disciplinary peri-operative team to deliver and maintain a high standard of clinical care by participating in all activities of the department to enhance the patient’s experience. You will actively participate in and maintain the highest standard of care and safety for patients, visitors and staff in the operating theatre suite and PACU and become competent in all aspects of clinical practice within the Operating Department/PACU.

Skills & Experience

To be successful in this role you will have:

• Extensive clinical experience in either Orthopaedics, General surgery, Opthalmics or ENT
• Recovery experience
• Evidence of ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
•Ability to plan and prioritise own and others workload when under pressure
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Qualifications

• Degree/Diploma in Operating Department Practice with HCPC registration
• NMC Registered Nurse
• Teaching qualification
• Specialist theatre/recovery/day surgery training e.g. ENB 183/182/176/A87/N81/DO3/A21/N33 or equivalent
