Job Summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Extended Scope Practitioner Physiotherapist (ESP) to join our dedicated multi-discipline team at Care UK’s Greater Manchester Clinical Assessment and Treatment Service (CATS).
This innovative service provides fast and convenient access to high quality diagnostics and clinical assessment for people in the Greater Manchester region. Working closely GPs, local hospitals and other healthcare professionals we ensure patients get the right treatment needed need as quickly as possible. As well as mobile clinical units, we work in health centres, GP practices and leisure centres. You can find us in Bolton, Denton, Longsight, Oldham, Rochdale, Salford and Stretford.
Reporting to Head of AHP and Specialist Clinical Teams you will use proven specialist skills to see, assess and treat patients referred for assessment, clinical diagnosis and management.
You will work clinically as am specialist autonomous in a primary care setting within GMCATS, undertaking expert assessment of patients with complex orthopaedic conditions within upper limb, lower limb, and/or spinal clinics, requesting specific diagnostic tests and interpreting results, and providing diagnosis/prognosis and advice regarding treatment options to patients and referring GP’s. You will make triage and decide at referral stage the appropriate patient pathway and be responsible for referral to Secondary care Treatment.
You will work with collaboratively with a highly dedicated team of Physiotherapist, ESPs, Medical Nursing and administrative to ensure delivery of first class patient care.
To be successful for the role you will have:
• Demonstrable general and speciality Physiotherapist experience.
• Staff management including assistants and/or students.
• Clinical supervision/teaching.
• Experience in research/audit.
• Injection therapy
• Ordering investigations
• Knowledge of outcome measures and audit.
• Knowledge of change management.
• In depth knowledge in their chosen clinical field.
• Up to date on issues relating to MSK Physiotherapy.
• Physiotherapy Degree 2:1 and above
• HCPC registered
• Member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapists
• Up to date clinically in MSK Physiotherapy
• Post graduate training to Masters level in MSK related area
• Evidence of extended scope practice and skills
• Injection training and relevant PGD’s
