Assessment Interviewer / Assessor required on 12 month fixed term contract

Location - Pirbright

Salary - £25,000

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assessment Interviewer/ Assessor to work with the Army Assessment Team at Pirbright, this role sits within the Army Recruiting Partnership of Capita plc - the UKs leading BPO

Overview

The Assessment Centre runs a variety of assessment activities that Candidates must pass in order to be made an offer to attend a Phase 1 Training Establishment. Each assessment is run to strict standards with clear measures that must be obtained by the candidate.

We are looking for candidates who can be dual trained across both Assessing and Interviewing

It is the role of the Assessors will be to take overall responsibility for a range of exercises that candidates will undertake during their assessment event. Working as part of an assessment team they will ensure that the candidates are effectively briefed and motivated through the event, running sessions as specified and ensuring that candidates arrive for other assessment activities (e.g. medical, classroom based tests, fitness and interview) informed and on time. It is critical that the role holder works closely with each candidate to better understand, motivate and support them through the process. This will help the candidate give of their best through the process and improve the quality of assessment and decision making.

The role of Interviewers will be to carryout structured interviews at the assessment centre. Liaison with Candidate Support Managers (CSM) to identify specific areas the CSM believes the candidate has demonstrated insufficient evidence of during their recruiting journey to date. Conduct a review of the candidate's record prior to the assessment event to identify any issues that may require scrutiny during their assessment event. Thorough preparation of each candidates results prior to interview

  • Look after accommodation and supervise handing over and taking over of rooms as required

  • Keep accurate notes
  • Input into overall assessment of individuals
  • Health and safety of candidates
  • Driving duties in support of assessment centre operations
  • Provide overnight chaperone cover as required

Place of Work/Hours of Work

The successful candidate will usually be employed at the Assessment Centre to which they applied as part of Integrated Services. However, there may be a business requirement which requires flexibility of location and they may be asked to work partly or wholly from another Assessment Centre (Belfast, Glencorse, Lichfield or Pirbright).

The Assessment Centre will operate Monday - Friday and a minimum of 2 weekends per month; the normal working hours will be 37.5 hours per week which will be balanced with overtime or TOIL. The actual hours worked will be in accordance with the duty rota. Such a rota will be between the hours of 8 am and 10pm; the rota days may include Bank Holidays and weekends and have variable start and finish times. Overnight chaperone duties are from 10pm until 8am.

Training & Development

Successful candidates will be experienced in running assessment events and will receive induction training on how to run each of the assessments used within the Assessment Centre.

This will be completed within the first weeks of their employment. During this time individuals must prove, through testing and observation, that they have sufficient knowledge, skills, competence and confidence to deliver the service to specified standards (see Section 3 for details).

Once performing the role individuals will be given opportunities to develop through a combination of on-the-job learning, coaching, e-learning and courses, including BPSS Level A.
