Capgemini Infra Strategic Business Unit has recently established a new Platform Deployment Services (PDS) business. The mission of the business is to deliver ‘a set of standard services or propositions in support of a product or product implementation’ to our clients. The first PDS offer will be based on Infra’s market leading Service Integration (SI) offer.
There is an opportunity to join the Global PDS organization as a Solution Architect , with a primary focus on its Service Integration business.
The Solution Architect
- Will lead and manage Infrastructure Services (IS) solution development in the sales cycle, from pre-sales engagement, through solutioning, sign-off, proposal writing and costing, and ultimately to contract schedule preparation and negotiations.
- Will have responsibility for requirements management, risk evaluation, the commercial relationship with the client, internal and external presentations to support the opportunity and pursuit, as well as the creation of cost models.
- Where a Services Integration client engagement requires other solution elements (e.g. Infra Data Centre Services or RIM, ADM, consulting), the Solution Architect Director will work with other solution architects and/or SMEs throughout the sales cycle.
Will have overall responsibility for helping the pursuit team position and sell complex SI engagements that will help our new clients transform its IT functions, improving the effectiveness and efficiency of its IT operations, as well as its integration and capabilities between its retained IT organization and its primary IT service providers
The Solution Architect will possess significant experience in the delivery of consulting, transition and transformation services in a large-scale Service Integration setting. They will be experienced in the disciplines associated with Service Integration and possess a track-record in delivering SI-type engagements. The SA will possess excellent customer relationship skills to ensure client requirements are well understood and are brought to light in a manner that matches Capgemini’s capabilities.
Specific responsibilities will include:
Assisting the regions with the following activities:
Driving the Service Integration agenda with the Client – what it means for them to be working with a SI provider and how it supports both their business needs and their IT outcomes;
Where appropriate, maintaining client contact with IT Executive/CXO level;
Ownership of and co-ordination for the SI solution, value creation and cost estimation;
Determining client scope and acting as client facing SPOC for solution, e.g. dialogs, presentations;
Defining high level solution including business case, with Delivery, HR, Finance, Transition & partners;
Setting and leading direction for solution and challenges of IS deliverables, incl. technical solution components, delivery model, projects, governance and costing/pricing;
Driving partner selection and SOW development in close co-operation with procurement;
Monitoring solution consistency, business case, conditions, risks and mitigations, assumptions and issues;
Mitigating and minimize delivery risk on system implementation projects by determining the most appropriate delivery approach and by defining comprehensive proposal assumptions;
Ensuring all Capgemini management and staff involved are briefed during solutioning and proposal stages;
Supporting global sourcing strategy including movement of work to Rightshore centres;
Interfacing with other Capgemini solution architects and SMEs.
Executive stature and credibility to command respect & successfully influence prospects and clients, third-party and internal stakeholders from the outset;
A specific and demonstrated knowledge of the Service Integration discipline, also known as Multi-Sourced Services Integration(MSI) or Service Integration and Management (SIAM)
A past track-record in the delivery of services to ensure context during solutioning process, e.g. understanding what it take to deliver what is sold and a consultative approach to the positioning new services;

Knowledge of pricing approaches in the marketplace. Experience in a wide variety of information technology fields to fully understand the details of the services that can be provided;
Detailed understanding of the SLAs, required performance measures and contractual obligations to develop agreements with the clients;
An innate ability to develop strong and robust customer relationships at CXO level to understand client concerns and requirements;
Sound business, financial and commercial awareness;
Good listening and negotiation skills;
Excellent and proven senior management with strong inter-personal, presentation and organisational skills within Service Solutioning and Delivery environment;
Excellent and proven leadership/motivational skills;
Adaptable and flexible with the ability to manage ambiguity;
Desirable Attributes:
A core IT educational background;
Large and complex account management capabilities;
Commercial know-how in contracting;
Past experience in positioning, shaping and closing large, complex IT solutions; previous solution architecture/solution development experience strongly recommended;
Experience in project, program and business management
