Job description

You will be a member of the Security Operations Centre (SOC), a large team who deliver specific IT Security Services to a well-known client site. The team are a friendly intuitive bunch working at all different levels with a great progression rate. The Raynesway SOC is the operational aspect consisting of a mix of Security Analyst’s, SOC Leads, Admin Assistant’s and Management with a sister SOC based at SinFin, Derby, which make up the wider security functions. Security Analysts work in shifts with the pattern of 4 12-hour day shifts, 4 days off, 4 12-hour night shifts, 4 days off.
The role is focused on delivering Intrusion Detection / Prevention services and assisting with Investigations as a result of escalated problems and security alerts from client tooling and security information & event management systems (SIEM). Security policy enforcement is also key, and is achieved through various assurance activities such as auditing Firewalls, and conducting privilege account reviews etc.
- You will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of client IT infrastructures.
- You will protect the information systems from external and internal attack / compromise.
- You will use various toolsets including Cisco AMP and Splunk on a daily basis to make detailed analysis.
- You will record and respond to events and incidents raised.
- You will have a basic understanding of security threats and compromise methods.
- Understanding of server, client and network technologies.
- Experience working in an IT outsource environment.
- You will provide excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
