We work with some of the largest banks in the world on a variety of banking transformation engagements, and are engaging with the banking C-Suite in shaping and delivering new operating models. Capgemini Consulting is growing and is seeking to hire a Managing Consultant / Principal to drive operational transformation in banks.
As a Principal you will be responsible for new business / sell on consulting opportunities in excess of £1.5m per annum (c£500k at MC). You will play a leadership role in our wider business, helping set the direction, driving forward the business, model our values and behaviours, and coach and develop junior members of the team. Key expectations from this role include:
Working as part of the Capgemini Consulting OpEX (Operations Excellence) team within our business, to ensure the coherence of all of our offerings in this arena.
Generating digital enhanced, innovative ideas and conceptual frameworks to help solve problems and drive out insightful recommendations, particularly in the banking operations area.
Supporting and shaping the operational transformational agenda at Banking clients to drive efficiency and effectiveness in their end-to-end operations.
Helping clients understand how to transform their ‘middle and back office’ capabilities by deploying new digital technologies and innovation.
Partnering with clients to work on complex transformation programmes that may include solutions such as BPM, STP and other process reengineering tools and techniques and data management approaches etc.
Working closely with the IT functions of banks to leverage and innovate organisational IT capabilities when driving operational designs.
You are likely to be a leader within a recognised consultancy / agency focused on delivering Operations transformation advisory and change services. In addition, you may also have been a senior member of a COO function within a Bank. Intellectually capable of developing and holding peer level relationships at all levels of the client’s company.
Specifically you will bring:
Good existing relationships with Senior Executives of major banks operating in the UK, particularly in the COO and the CIO areas of banks.
Experience of designing, fixing and implementing operating models driven to achieve cost reduction, to meet new regulatory requirements, and to support  post-merger integration and divestments.
An understanding of end-to-end customer needs, journeys and behaviours and how these are changing (external and internal customer of a bank) and be able to apply that insight to drive operations transformation.
Experience of designing and implementing Shared Services and experience of having transformed key banking capabilities (e.g. reporting, process architecture etc).
Experience of working across the different functions in a bank (front, middle and back office) to drive end-to-end transformation.
Experience in Agile design and delivery of Digital and/or IT Solutions and onshore/offshore delivery models would be considered favourably.
You will also require:
A forward thinking view of the opportunity for future banking operations and the emerging role of the COO.
Strong management consulting experience with proven success in Retail & Commercial Banking.
Experience and evidence of thought leadership and a market recognised reputation in the market.
A proven track record in new business development / account management in major banks across the full sales lifecycle; you will have a personal sales target of circa £1.5m per annum of consulting business.
Proven ability to be successful in a matrixed organisation and to enlist support and commitment from peers in selling and delivering consulting solutions.
A passion to shape, motivate and deliver a digital banking agenda for clients.

Whilst you will have London as an office base location, you must be fully flexible in terms of assignment location, as these roles may involve periods of time away from home at short notice.
