We are currently looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated individual to join our Tools & Automation support team. Within this role you will be responsible for providing a monitoring service to all UK clients which will proactively identify problems before they become client impacting. This is achieved through the use of both Global & Regional standard toolsets.
This is an ideal opportunity to join a team that are currently driving a programme to transfer the way System Monitoring is delivered, moving from an Infrastructure Alerting methodology to a new Service Offering which will provide more transparency to Accounts & Clients on the performance of their Business Critical Applications.
Full training will be provided, including KT with the senior engineers within the team.
We are looking for someone that can show innovation & initiative as part of the role will be to work with the various support teams to identify opportunities where the monitoring toolsets can provide additional value, either through automation or new monitoring solutions to help identify problems.
Systems Management Engineers are required to work to a shift pattern that spans 08:00 – 18:00. This will potentially include on-call support and out of hours work.
Due to the nature of the clients supported, appropriate Security Clearance is required in order to secure a permanent offer; successful candidates will have their applications sponsored as part of the on-boarding process.
The team is responsible for RUN, BUILD & PROJECT & 3rd Level activities.
RUN:
•Ensuring the tools remain evergreen.
•Managing Alert & Ticket Volumes
•Reduction of manual activities through automation.
•Problem Resolution
•Engagement with 3rd Level in fault resolution
•Working closely with IMOC to identify improvements/enhancements
•Status Reporting
BUILD/PROJECT:
•Working with Clients to enhance the monitoring service to meet business needs.
•Provide handover to the RUN team to enable full support of new solutions.
•Documenting solutions
•Maintenance and production of technical documentation to facilitate knowledge share and skills development
•Engagement in New Bids
3RD LEVEL:
•Delivering new Service Monitoring Strategy
•Working with Global Teams on standards and new service offerings
•Provide enhanced support
•Involvement in MIM
•Working with vendors to develop roadmaps for future capabilities
•Up selling solutions provided to clients to growth the services offered.
•Driving automation through RunBook.
