The Business Information Management practice is looking for several experienced Analytics Consultants to join a growing team, focussed on helping our clients implement end-to-end Business Analytics solutions and capabilities.
The Business Analytics practice provides analytical solutions to our clients, which involve designing, implementing and supporting environments through to the analysis of data to explore business performance in a number of domains. BI and Analytics software from SAS, IBM, Microsoft, other BI Analytics tools and Open Source platforms are key software components in our inventory.  We are intending to strengthen our capability in these tools and technologies, and are looking for individuals who are able to operate in dynamic environments and are keen to expand their technical and business horizons.

As a BA consultant you will be responsible for the design and delivery of complex solutions that include:
 
The development of Business Intelligence and Analytic solutions utilising both Open Source and proprietary technologies
The provision of technical consultancy covering: Design; Strategy; Data Exploitation; Best Practice
Typical Business Analytics Consultants responsibilities may include the following, dependent upon experience and grade:
Business Development:
Presales: Supporting and attending (new and existing) client meetings providing technical input and SME around Business Analytics
Bids: Responding to client RFI, RFP and ITT documents including cost estimates, commercial modelling and management of activities to secure new business
Project and Programme Delivery:
Analysis of existing client capabilities regarding Business Analytics
Developing Business Analytics blueprints and roadmaps
Project / programme planning and management: Leading Business Analytics projects (both standalone and as part of a larger project / programme), including team management, task and activity planning, risks and issues management, dependencies management
Business Analysis: capture, define, document and prioritise client Business Analytics requirements (functional and non functional)
Solution Architecting: Design and development of Business Analytics solutions to meet functional and non-functional requirements including business process design
Stakeholder Management: identifying and engaging with all stakeholders across the business
Supplier / Vendor Management: managing suppliers and software vendors
Business Analytics consultancy: advising clients on Business Analytics best practices
Essential:
Strong experience in implementation and use of Business Analytics and BI tools and platforms
Ability to liaise with clients to establish requirements and discuss development strategies
Ability to interpret business requirements in terms of Architecture, Data Modelling, Solution Design and Information Exploitation
Awareness of general Business Intelligence and Data Integration market and technologies
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical clients
Ability to work independently and without supervision
Comfortable working within a multi-organisation environment
Willingness to work anywhere in the UK
The candidate should have experience of use of several of the main-stream Analytics and BI technologies:

Database (e.g. Teradata, Oracle, SQL Server, MongoDB)
Analytics Tools (e.g. SAS, Microsoft BI, IBM SPSS, Opensource: R and Python)
Analytics Visualisation Tools (e.g. Tableau, SAS VA, IBM Cognos, QlikView, Pentaho)
Platform (e.g. Teradata, Oracle, SQL Server, Cloudera)
Reporting Tools (e.g. Business Objects, IBM, SAS, MS BI)
Database (e.g. Teradata, Oracle, SQL Server, MongoDB)
 Desirable:
A track record of achievement and recognition within the IT industry as evidenced by promotion
Project management or planning
Delivering Business Analytics through the Cloud
Developing Business Analytics as a Service (AaaS) capabilities, including experience with offshore operating models
Significant experience in a client facing role delivering analytics solutions
Successful candidate must have:
Business analysis skills:
ability to engage with people across all levels of the organisation to extract business requirements
business workshop facilitation and output capture
Experience with technologies that provide Business Analytics capabilities. Candidates must have hands on experience (using or implementing) with at least 3 of the following:

Willingness to learn new tools and technologies.
A strong academic record including the achievement of a good honours degree or equivalent
A track record of achievement and recognition within their career, evidenced by promotions and role development
Excellent communication skills – clear, concise written documentation, reports and presentations
Happy to work away from home during the week (within the UK) and occasionally abroad
Interest in and capability to expanding knowledge into associated areas
Developed Vetted security clearance (highly desirable)
