Responsibility for administering the Capgemini Service Asset and Configuration Management (SACM) process, working closely with other process leads within the organization to ensure that Asset specific information can be gathered and disseminated using efficient and consistently followed processes. This role will work closely with Incident, Problem, Change, Service Performance, Disaster Recovery, Contracts, Solutioning, Technology Planning and Technology tower specific process managers and frequently directly with the Customer.
Day to Day review of the execution of the process and interfaces in this service
Provides guidance to all team members on how to perform SACM processes and utilize associated tools
Drives asset management standards throughout the Organization and accounts.
Utilizes current best practices for SACM procedures and provides input or feedback for continuous improvement of Asset & Configuration Management best practices
Works closely with Finance to ensure that:
Process for recording Leased and purchased IT Assets is executed in a timely fashion
Financial aspects of the IT assets are captured, tracked and managed within the CMDB as appropriate
Harvesting, analysing, manipulating and reporting on existing and discovery data from customer inventory, CMDB, tools, manual interviews and existing documentation
Evaluating customer stakeholder support and buy in to project objectives and escalating where required
Assist in the creation and execution of stakeholder and communications maps and planning
Defining and enforcing customer and project escalation processes in relation to discovery activities
Provide subject matter expertise related to the process and data needed to execute and improve the IT Asset and Configuration Management solution(s).
Act as the centralized point of coordination for the approach and requirements definition responsible for driving this work stream's process maturity, efficiency, and effectiveness goals.
Provide reporting to stakeholders, executive and financial management, including asset management reports, configuration item analysis reports and inventory reports
Understanding of business applications how they are linked to form services, and the associated business constraints such as
Criticality/importance of applications / services to a business
Business impact ratings of loss of an application / service outage windows of applications
Potential mitigation strategies to minimise impact and outage of applications / services during migration / transformation of supporting infrastructure.
From technical and application discovery tools and manipulation / interpretation of exported / output data (examples – BMC, ADDM, SCCM, AD)
Breadth of understanding across both technical and business areas
To ascertain and document a detailed level of understanding of IT applications / services / architecture and supporting data flows and protocols through interviewing, documentation reviews and discovery tools data
Able to ascertain and document a detailed level of understanding of IT applications / services /infrastructure dependencies and links.
Clear communications across all stakeholder levels, both documentation and presentation skills
Experience and working knowledge of the following principles and methodologies:
- ITIL
Prince 2
Product based planning
Dependency planning and management
Risk Assessment
Stakeholder Management
Project planning and associated project management tools and controls such as RAID
Moderate knowledge of Server/Desktop admin
Moderate understanding of Storage (with direct contact to a storage specialist in order to help configure storage discovery)
ModersateModerate understanding of network device access (with direct contact to a network specialist in order to help configure network device credentials)
Expert knowledge of reporting (in order to generate ADDM reports)
Moderate Knowledge of Remedy / ITSM
In general the admin should be able and confident to reach out to the different specialists in order to configure ADDM correctly
An understanding of ITIL processes
Excellent verbal and written communications skills
Strong MS Excel and Office skills
Requires a broad knowledge of IT service delivery practices and business functions, the IT Asset and Configuration Management Lifecycle, and, ITIL. Principal responsibilities.
Experience with or knowledge of major ITSM products such as HP Service Manager, BMC Atrium, ServiceNow, or IBM TADDM/CCMDB especially Remedy.
Broad IT experience Strong analytic skills and ability to perform data analysis across multiple applications and database systems
Any System / database Admin experience
