Job Purpose and Summary

Fantastic opportunity for a Finance Professional to join Canon Europe and provide financial planning and control for EMEA Marcomms and Corporate Communications activity. You'll provide reporting and analysis of Canon’s EMEA functions expenditure as well as preparing various reports and information to support central expenses activity.

·  Ensure accurate and timely forecasting, recording, reporting and Monitoring of SGA expense for Corporate Communications & Marketing Services, Digital Communications, Shared Marcoms, Market Intelligence and BU “58” Marcom divisions
·  Managing EMEA Marcom budget preparation (work plan creation, review and authorisation), budget entry/submission (into Hyperion and reconciliation to CEMIS & OMD)
·  Budget preparation and financial control, analysis and reporting for key Pan European events (e.g. Euro 2012, Photokina 2012, 2014 & 2016, Drupa 2012 & 2016, Olympics 2012, Athletics 2013, Ryder Cup 2014, Expo 2015, Rugby World Cup, ESSEN, ISE, IBC) including preparation of ICPO requested by NSO’s (National Sales Organisations) trigger by any Pan European event or Incentives
·  Preparing month end reports and presentations as required for all function Chiefs, conducting month end reviews with key stakeholders
·  Preparation of package costs for EMEA events for Benefit in Kind Purposes
·  Preparation & submission of Accruals & Manual journals for Functions & BU’s (Marcoms)
·  Monthly reconciliation of Balance Sheet & Profit and Loss accounts
·  Supporting work plan creation and review process (BU’s and function)
·  Ensuring advertising and marketing expenses are accounted for in line with USGAAP and company policy.
·  Ensuring all Marcom expenditure is correctly authorized in accordance with company policy
·  Guide and support colleagues on budget processes, financial controls and requirements
·  Supporting the CFO, Function Chiefs and managers with other activities
·  Assist Canon Europe Ltd (CEL) Accounting team with ad hoc support where required
·  Mobile expense and Travel (American Express) analysis for CEL
·  Track and resolve AP and AR issues for CEL leading to a Minimisation aged AP and AR for CEL
·  Reconciliation of AP and AR Accounts

·  Finance degree or degree in a related field preferred
·  Part or recently qualified CIMA/ACCA

Personal Specification e.g. Technical skills, knowledge, experience required

·  Demonstrable working experience gained in a Finance role/environment
·  Strong IT Skills – advanced knowledge of Excel (preferably VBA for Excel),MS Access
·  High-end analytical skills and detail-oriented
·  A pro-active and flexible attitude, strong team player and self-starter
·  Good interpersonal, planning and organisation skills to gather information from and work with multiple levels across Canon EMEA
·  Pan-European experience and multi-cultural sensitivity preferred
·  Good command of spoken and written English
·  Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to summarise and present complex financial data in an organised, concise manner
·  Good numeracy skills with high attention to detail
·  Willingness to help others in the finance team
·  Ability to identify and act on improvements to finance reporting and processes
·  Willing to work to meet deadlines as required
