Job Purpose and Summary

Exciting role where you will create and implement multichannel marketing activities which grow Canon brand presence and product share within our key customer channels. Drive acquisition, conversion and retention of targeted customers and consumers by improving the consumer journey and overall lifetime value.

The role will allow you to develop and execute local Trade Marketing plan for the assigned channel that supports Canon UK business and product objectives and is in line with the pan-European Trade Marketing Strategy and objectives.

Working with Key Account Managers and Account Manager you will design, sell-in and execute of  Marketing Account Activity Plans for all key accounts, in line with Pan-European pricing model and develop channel strategies with the Trade Marketing Manager, UK Sales-Channel Management and European colleagues, as appropriate and will implement plans to achieve pan-European Key Performance Indicators score.  

Working in close collaboration with the Sales-Channel, you will establish effective communication with other marketing teams across Canon Europe and Canon UK. Monitor channel performance and recommend actions based on results. Play an active role in the development of European promotions, Point of Sales and Trade Marketing projects.

Clearly understanding & proactive use of Market Intelligence, Customer and Shopper insight you will develop and use your excellent understanding of the local UK market and the dynamics of the assigned channel. Developing relationships with major customers’ Marketing personnel and use Canon Europe Trade Marketing tools and resources effectively,  you will, where necessary, develop high-quality customisation to marketing activity. You will manage the inventory of promotional items. Produce and deliver presentations with conviction. Track advertising and sales promotion spend from all funding sources in relation to responsibilities and avoid overspend. Evaluate all activity for return on investment.

Carry out regular field visits to improve sales needs and customer knowledge and to communicate aspects of marketing strategy.

Ideally you should have a related University degree specialising in Marketing Management would be preferable. Highly relevant experience in a similar role or sales role within Consumer Electronics industry or FMCG environment but aligned industries considered where there is a strong brand.
With a clear understanding of retail drivers and trade marketing tools you will have the experience of building strong business plans with clear Return on Investment measurement.  You will need to be computer literate, with good understanding of MS office applications.
Experience in developing a Channel strategy & account plans essential including the management and evaluate promotional activity against performance targets. Strong financial management skills, marketing communication and supplier and customer relationships (internal and external).
Ideally with a digital marketing background and account management would be useful

Salary - £36,724  - £46,472 + 10% bonus
