Poste et missions

The Energy Transition & Natural Resources team, based in Houston, covers Corporates, Financial Sponsors and US Subsidiaries of Multinational Companies. The team is sector-focused and product-agnostic, with primary objective to continue building a diversified book of business across the Energy Transition value chain.

 

The VIE will focus most of their time supporting senior members of the Energy Transition & Natural Resources origination team by preparing marketing materials, coordinating the origination efforts with different product partners of the bank, executing vanilla financing solutions and providing support on ongoing portfolio management, as well as KYC and compliance requirements.

 

Responsibilities include developing knowledge of the sector and clients, ability to create impactful marketing content, provide comprehensive business and credit risk analysis of customers and prospects, manage processes independently and build relationships with other stakeholders within the bank. 

 

Deal origination support:

·  Support senior members of the team in the origination efforts by preparing pitchbooks, marketing materials, industry reviews;
·  Maintaining the origination pipeline to ensure consistent marketing efforts with prospects;
·  Run profitability metrics on incoming transactions.

Transaction execution:

·  Take active role in the execution of financing transactions by preparing credit applications, credit analysis, financial modeling, coordination of legal documentation review, vetting of counterparties;
·  Write internal memos for senior management on clients and transactions;
·  Gain expertise in internal policies and procedures as well as internal systems, including credit approval workflow, counterparty rating, compliance/conflict check, KYC, etc.

Portfolio management:

·  Be responsible for timely portfolio company reviews;
·  Lead renewal of credit lines and counterparty ratings;
·  Ensure vetting of counterparties remain in good standing.

 

The VIE will play a key role in the build-up of the Energy Transition Coverage in the Americas. Collaboration with Senior Bankers, salespersons, and product specialists will give the candidate opportunity to perform a broad variety of missions. The incumbent will directly contribute to the increase in business in the Americas with key sector clients through the development of M&A-IB deals, corporate banking solutions and other products.

 

Profil et compétences requises

Master’s degree in Finance or related.
Minimum 6-month internship in a commercial/investment bank or financial institution with exposure to corporate finance, debt, capital markets or M&A
Interest in energy, energy transition, and natural resources a plus.
Solid finance / credit analysis knowledge.
Fluent in English, French a plus.
Strong organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
Client-focused, with strong relationship-building and trust-establishment skills.
Curious, strategic, global, and entrepreneurial mindset.
Proficient in analyzing quantitative and qualitative data for meaningful business insights.
Advanced skills in Excel, PowerPoint, and data providers (S&P Capital IQ, Merger Market).
Quick to integrate and thrive in fast-paced environments.
