The Originator – Trade Finance and Working Capital Solutions will be responsible for originating and structuring trade finance and working capital solutions, including letters of credit, structured trade financing, supply chain financing, receivables financing, and contract monetization, for a diverse range of clients such as corporations, financial institutions, private equity funds, and insurance companies. This role involves identifying, negotiating, and closing complex sales of global trade solutions for our strategic and high-potential clients. The Originator will support the Senior Bankers and take full ownership of a portfolio of clients, collaborating closely with partner bankers to drive business development, client advisory, and ensure alignment with client strategies. This includes working in tandem with Coverage and Sector bankers, Syndication, Credit, Operations, and other business partners across various Lines of Business.
Global Trade is a vital component of a comprehensive Corporate & Investment Bank client relationship and plays a key role in our growth strategy across international and emerging sectors. Our offerings include financing and risk mitigation products such as Supply Chain Finance, Export/ECA Finance, Commodity Trade Finance, Receivables Finance, Contract Monetization, and Commercial Letters of Credit/SBLC.
Key objectives and responsibilities:
· Support senior bankers and originators in sales and origination efforts for Global Trade products in the Americas.
· Identify, qualify, and secure opportunities with a strong client focus.
· Originate, negotiate, and close complex sales of global trade or cross-product solutions, including distribution strategies and Asset-Backed Securities (ABS), for our strategic clients.
· Develop and execute client strategies in close collaboration with Coverage bankers and product/sector specialists. Maintain account plans with banking coverage partners in the assigned portfolio to ensure a seamless trade finance experience.
· Leverage partnerships with bankers and product specialists to create and deliver global trade and cross-product solutions for corporate and Financial Institutions Group (FIG) clients. Organize and participate in ad-hoc teams as needed.
· Foster a collaborative team environment, proactively leading efforts to serve clients.
· Identify potential issues and process inefficiencies, escalating them in alignment with the Risk and Control framework while proposing solutions.
· Maintain an accurate and up-to-date CRM scorecard, reflecting both qualitative and quantitative metrics.
· Engage in active communication with onshore and regional Global Trade partners in international markets, staying informed about market and product developments. Collaborate with Global Trade partners to produce high-quality external materials and engagements.
· Contribute to product development, marketing, and other strategic initiatives.
· Ensure compliance with all global engagement and credit committee approval processes for the portfolio
The salary range for this position will be between $165,000 - $210,000. Natixis is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. Actual base salary will vary and will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, education, skills set, applicable licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. Base salary is only one component of our total rewards package. Natixis also offers a generous benefits package, and you may be eligible for a discretionary incentive award depending on company and individual performance
Profil et compétences requises
• Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Finance, or a related field (MBA preferred).
• 3-5+ years of experience in structured finance products, particularly in Trade Finance, Supply Chain Finance, and Receivables Finance.
• Proven track record in sales of complex trade finance products, with strong relationship-building and business development capabilities.
• Experience collaborating with Credit, Tax, and Legal teams on complex cross-product transactions, including capital relief transactions and distribution/ABS solutions.
• Series 79 and 63
• Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills.
• Demonstrates initiative and a commitment to continuous learning, with the adaptability to meet changing demands and requirements.
• Proven ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with external clients and internal stakeholders. Understanding the business and personal factors influencing decision-making is essential.
