ASME Inspector (Pressure Equipment Design)

The Role:
Role Purpose: To provide provision of examination, witnessing and endorsement of Code shop data reports, maintain code shop compliance to ASME BPV Code, attend triannual audits in support of National Board auditors. Certification activities of pressure equipment in compliance with EU directives. Manage inspection and verification activity to a high standard in line with the ASME BPV Code, procedures, regulations, standard and client requirements.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintaining OneCIS inspectors diary at time of inspection activities
Witness and examine equipment in conformance with ASME BPV Codes
Endorse Code Shop data reports and witnessing of application of ASME and National Board stamps to pressure equipment
Complying with the requirements of NB-263 RC1 and ASME QAI-1
Complying with OneCIS quality manual and inspection procedures
Providing inspection and verification of pressure equipment products and permanent joining within authorised scope of QnS codification assigned inspection codes and EU regulation requirements (PED, TPED, ASM, permanent joining)
Ensure informed knowledge of developments in standards and legislation affecting all inspection activity is maintained and supporting change as required.
Perform verification, quality assessment, documentation review activities on contracts undertaken by the BU and BV Group where applicable and ensure efficiency, profitability and LTP compliance is maintained, including, contract review, compliance with procedures and regulations, etc.
Maintenance of BV code of Ethics and Conflict of interest at all levels of inspections and personal involvement on the behalf of BVUK and BV Group.
Responsible for reporting sales opportunities to the BU Manager.
Maintain client and verification Engineer relationships.
Experience & Skills Required:
In depth knowledge of ASME section’s I, II, III, IV, V, VIII, IX design, construction and inspection
Working experience of complying with the requirements of the PED and harmonised standards
Detailed knowledge of in-service inspection procedures and processes in an ISO 17020 environment.
Good knowledge of market, industry trends, developments and changes in legislation.
Understanding of roles/responsibilities of Notified Body.
Good working knowledge of manufacture and inspection of pressure equipment.
Working knowledge of Welding and NDT Processes
Excellent communication skills.
Qualifications Required:
Minimum of 100 SAFed points against SS01
ASME – Authorised Inspector, current or in process of qualification / re-qualification
National Board Registered
