Marketing & Events Assistant
Internship Greater London Marketing
Job description
We are looking for a creative and productive individual who is eager to gain first-hand experience within promoting, marketing and managing events throughout London. You will be working amongst various teams across multiple projects within one of South London’s popular venues and will gain a valuable insight into promoting shows and growing brands.
The key focus of this role is to:
Assist with running in-house and external events at the venue
Drive the sales of tickets to these events
Assist with the development of the venues promotional strategies
Update and grow various social media channels
Research and monitor the competitive landscape
Create and initiate various email campaigns including the weekly newsletter
Maintain the company website and blog
Knowledge / Skills / Traits:
• Passion for music events
• Good knowledge of social media
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong IT skills (Microsoft Office)
• Photoshop / Design skills (desirable but not essential)
• Keen networker
• Trustworthy character
• Fun and sociable
Events
• Working and maintaining relationships with outside promoters to ensure their events run as smoothly as possible
• Keeping tab on other events happening in London and researching new promoters to bring to the venue
• Assisting with organising all aspect of in-house events including the booking of artists, artwork, hotels and handing over tech spec to the venue engineer
Digital Marketing
• Maintain and growth various social media channels (Facebook, Twitter, Soundcloud)
• Provide artists, promoters and brands with social media promotional resources to post via their channels and keep track of their progress.
• Create up to date lists of relevant music/fashion/ London listing sites, magazine forums and maintain contact / update with new venue information.
Website Management
• Assist with development of the new venue website
• Assist with all updated content including events, blog posts, news stories and photo and video content for galleries.
Mailouts
• To produce regular mailouts with new and engaging content, collation of information from other departments, proof-reading and testing
Content/Media
• Maintain the venues own media output through news on blog, Soundcloud mixes, interviews
• To liaise with the artists playing at the venue to plan dates for provision of mixes
• Liaise with photographers and videographers for collation of content pre and post event

Desired profile
