Graphic Design Intern - Music / Nightlife

Job description

Jamm South London Ltd is currently recruiting for the position of Graphic Design Intern.

We are looking for a creative and productive individual who is eager to gain first-hand experience within design input and application within the music/nightlife industry. You will be working amongst various teams across multiple projects within one of South London’s popular venues and will gain a valuable insight into creating graphic design assets for promotional and marketing campaigns.

The key focus of this role is to:
Create high-quality creative assets for use across events, newsletters, social media
Contribute innovative ideas towards Brixton Jamm’s visual output and branding
Following promotional guidelines when designing advertising assets for social media
Assist with the development of the venues promotional strategies
Create and initiate various elements email campaigns including the weekly newsletter

Knowledge / Skills / Traits:
A drive for experience within the creative industry
Strong knowledge of Adobe design suite software (must have their own copy of Photoshop)
Attention to detail
Good knowledge of social media
Strong IT skills (Microsoft Office)
Knowledge of Video editing software (desirable not essential)
Knowledge of HTML design (desirable not essential)
Trustworthy character
Fun and sociable

Day to day tasks
Designing of event posters
Updating website image templates when new events are launched
Updating newsletter image templates when new events are launched
Designing digital assets for social media promotion
Design of weekly A0 event posters
Various signage design to be used within the venue
Working with external promoters assisting with design queries when needed
Keeping an eye out for interesting artistic ways to help promote events
Helping to manage the Brixton Jamm blog and social media accounts
Creating assets to be used within the weekly newsletter
Sourcing and creating promotional video content
