Job description

The Overview

The Energy Data Analyst will be responsible for analysing customer's energy data at site and portfolio level, using their industry and energy management knowledge to generate engaging insight and new concepts suitable for use within the wider business depatments, credit, debt, regulatory, finance, marketing, props etc.

The Role

·  The analysis of energy data from a variety of sources, including BGB’s SMART Electricity and Gas base
·  The engagement with and building of relationships with stakeholders across the business in order to effectively deliver benefit from the analysis of energy data
·  The Identification and delivery of insight derived from energy consumption patterns
·  Provide ongoing support for any analysis developed by the team and in use operationally across the business
·  Support of projects focused on improving and enhancing the capabilities of Energy Analytics
·  Build, Measure and track predictive model performance and produce management summary reports to key stakeholders.
·  Fulfil ad-hoc analysis requests for demographic and transactional customer information across the business.

The Person

·  Numerate degree (Physics, Mathematics, Engineering etc) Experience of commercial processes and challenges
·  Experience deploying commercial models and processes
·  Statistical programming experience required – ‘SaS’ or ‘R’ (currently work predominantly in SaS)
·  Programming experience beneficial – Python
·  Knowledge of interrogating data stored in Hadoop beneficial
·  Knowledge of interrogating data stored in PHP beneficial
·  Experience handling, querying and analysing large volumes of data (SQL etc), ETL
·  Experience of building forecast models
·  Machine learning experience (forecasting, clustering etc)
·  Ability to present complex outputs to non-technical individuals throughout the business.
